I am a principal in a small custom residential building firm in Greenville , SC. I have had the opportunity to work with many architects and residential designers over the past 30 years. In my opinion, Bill Baker's talent in designing a home is unsurpassed. His grasp of scale, style, and attention to detail is unequaled in the design market. His insights made the home much more livable. And even after months of revisions, he would still tell us the upsides and things to be aware of when we requested changes; I think a lesser architect would have taken the approach of "just give the client what they want," and moved on to the next project. He is extremely dedicated to his craft. He has a certain passion for architecture that's contagious; it kept us excited about the project even during the stress of the all the decisions and challenges. The other day he showed us pictures of homes he took during his most recent vacation. How many people do you know or work with who do job-related research--on vacation? That's true passion for the work. He gets the details right. It's not just about the floor plan or elevations for Bill; he wants every piece of the home to fit together seamlessly. Bill is so knowledgeable of classically designed homes and really listened to what we wanted in our home functionally and brought that vision to life. To say that Bill Baker is a talented residential designer does not do justice to him or his work. When we were contemplating building our home, we drove through numerous neighborhoods. We were interested in the Georgian style and, as soon as we saw one of Mr. Baker's homes, we stopped the car and knew we had to find out who designed it and reach out to this architectural firm. We live in the country and did not have the land space limitation placed on the home that caught our attention. Bill Baker exceeded our expectations and designed a home that was perfect for our setting. He also saw the project through from start to finish and assisted the builder at numerous points during the build, providing contacts to suppliers of fine molding and finishes. Mr. Baker is a remarkable talent, and very responsive to his clients.

I have known Bill Baker for at least 15 years and have worked with him on many new construction and renovation projects.
