Updating a modern classic These clients adore their home’s location, nestled within a 2-1/2 acre site largely wooded and abutting a creek and nature preserve. They contacted us with the intent of repairing some exterior and interior issues that were causing deterioration, and needed some assistance with the design and selection of new exterior materials which were in need of replacement. Our new proposed exterior includes new natural wood siding, a stone base, and corrugated metal. New entry doors and new cable rails completed this exterior renovation. Additionally, we assisted these clients resurrect an existing pool cabana structure and detached 2-car garage which had fallen into disrepair. The garage / cabana building was renovated in the same aesthetic as the main house.

Att bo i ett hus har verkligen många fördelar, och ett av dem är ofta förvaring. Man har helt enkelt rent generellt mer plats i ett hus än vad man har i en lägenhet. Dessutom har man allt som oftast t.ex. ett garage eller ett förråd, eller både och om man har tur! Bilen ställer man såklart in i garaget eller carporten, men det är inte det enda man behöver förvaring till om man frågar de allra flesta familjer och ensamstående i vårt avlånga land. Har man dessutom en stor tomt är det inte sällan som man även vill bygga en friggebod eller ett attefallshus i tillägg till ett garage eller carport, och det med all rätt! Friggebodar kan minst sagt komma väl till pass då man kan ställa in både det ena och det andra i den, så finns möjligheten bör man absolut överväga att bygga en friggebod på sin egen tomt!

Separat garage och förråd, eller kombinerat?

När man ska bygga ett garage finns det både en och två saker som man bör tänka på. Ska man till exempel även ha en garage eller carport, verkstad och tillhörande förrådsbod? Att bara smälla upp en garagebyggsats utan att tänka på vilka behov som man faktiskt har är nämligen inte alltid det smartaste. Smidigt förvisso, men kommer garaget då verkligen ha de funktioner som man önskar av det? För vissa är till exempel ett dubbelgarage det bästa alternativet, medan andra kanske bara ska bygga en carport eller enkelgarage och sen istället fokusera på att bygga en friggebod eller ett förråd för övrig förvaring. Ett garage eller en carport med förråd är ett annat alternativ, eller varför inte ett garage med övervåning? Man ska med andra ord absolut inte ta några förhastade beslut innan man sätter igång bygge av sitt garage eller carport. Det är otroligt viktigt med planering, på så sätt brukar man alltid bli nöjd med slutresultatet!

Ska vi bygga ett attefallshus eller en lekstuga?

Det är inte alltid som man är intresserad av att bygga en bod eller stuga för förvaring, utan man kan lika gärna bygga det för att ha som gäststuga eller liknande. För först och främst så handlar det såklart om vad man vill få ut av sitt fritidshus, och vill man ha gäster sovandes i den är det inte direkt ett redskapsskjul eller en vedbod som man ska bygga. Beroende på om man vill ha sovgäster eller bara ett ställe för barnen att leka i, så behöver man också bygga olika typer av stugor. Lekstugor skänker allt som oftast otroligt stor glädje till barnen, men i slutändan är det svårt att välja det framför ett attefallshus. Visst beror det som sagt på vad syftet med boden är, men i ett attefallshus kan man både leka, sova och äta i, så det är alltså inte för inget som det är så otroligt populärt att bygga just det.
