This Edwardian home’s kitchen no longer suited the way the family lived, so we created a layout that placed storage where it was needed, kept surfaces clear and opened the space to the garden. After comparing cabinetry styles and hardware in the showroom, the clients chose our Shaker collection for its proportions. The kitchen uses three paint colours: Sage Green by Little Greene for the main cabinetry and bootility, Arras by Little Greene to define the drinks area, and Farrow & Ball Slipper Satin on the reeded-glass cupboards and coffee nook. The island began as a conversation about Lanhydrock House in Cornwall, where the family had seen a large working table. It evolved into a dark-stained oak island made in our workshops, shaped to fit the room and bring in extra storage. A curved cornice, CRL Verona quartz worktops with mixed edge profiles, and consistent brass hardware add texture and coherence. A wine fridge sits within the drinks alcove, while the bootility and coffee nook support the flow of daily life.

Bespoke warm oak open plan kitchen living room with lots of complimentary natural materials like rope and linen. The island is 3m long with deep drawers on both sides to provide ample storage. Our client wanted a communal space to entertain and be with family. The dining area had originally been an open atrium balcony above the basement kitchen, this was closed up to maximise floor space.

This kitchen exudes a soft, contemporary charm with its flat-panel pink cabinet doors which along with the painted exposed steel beams, adding subtle pops of colour that feels both modern and warm. A striking curved reeded wood island anchors the space, its textured surface creating a contrast to the sleek cabinetry. In this open-plan living area, the kitchen seamlessly flows into the rest of the home, its gentle curves and muted tones enhancing the inviting, airy atmosphere. The blend of materials and shapes creates a harmonious balance of sophistication and comfort.

The boot room and utility space is thoughtfully designed for both practicality and style, creating a welcoming entrance to the home. Each family member has a dedicated cubby hole, reminiscent of a classic locker room, perfect for hanging coats and storing boots. The cubby holes are fitted with Alexander & Wilkes hooks in antique bronze, adding a timeless touch. Painted in Little Greene's "Ambleside," the soft green hue provides a calming backdrop, while the grey and white checkered floor introduces a playful yet elegant pattern that adds visual interest to this hardworking area.
