Set for an afternoon gathering, the Ciacchis' picnic table is nothing less than effortlessly elegant. Pulling from her inspirations toward southern charm and hospitality, Jennifer combines treasures from her "junking" adventures with vintage Eva Zeisel china to create a mood befitting of the most perfect summer day.
The 12-foot table was hand made from barn siding. Jennifer picked the chairs from a dumpster, later realizing that each one had a name on it. "Because on the back of each one is a name of the person's chair, it makes it fun for parties because everyone gets a new name at dinner!" she says. Woven votives hang overhead, ready to create evening ambiance.

The purpose was to create privacy to the front door and living room from the street beyond. I also creates another level of security as the gate is locked from the inside. Flagstone landing transitions into Flagstone steps that lead on to the front door. David Bauer, Cornerstone Builders of SW FlWater Re-use project using the Overflow Water coming from the Reverse Osmosis System. The waste line was run underground to the back of the fountain post and attached to the garden hose valve. The valve is locked in the open position to always allow flow when the system needs it. The watering can is removable to use the water for nearby potted plants. If the water is not used for plants it overflows to refill the bird bath with fresh water for the birds. Since the build several birds make it a regular stop in there day.

The Natural GardenWe call these gardens "living landscapes" because the native plants they contain seed off and change locations from year to year in a dynamic, dramatic show. The gardener becomes audience, director, and dramaturge--all in one--rather than one who tightly controls the results.
(What is a dramaturge, one might ask if their friends are not in the theater?) Oxford languages explains: "1. a dramatist.
2. a literary editor on the staff of a theater who consults with authors and edits texts."
In living landscapes, the native plants become a sort of text which the gardener edits in order to shape the unfolding drama for the current and next season. The gardener chooses where to pull back overly assertive plants, when to nudge forward the under-confident actor waiting to shine, when to let the mystery unfold and surprise. It is not laissez-faire or "what will be will be"--rather, it is an ongoing movement rooted in observation and reflection. This is the living landscape we strive to design and build at The Natural Garden.

The goal was not differing heights, spring, summer or fall colors. Rather it was quit simple. All perennials must be the same height, a variety of plants and colors intermingled.
What we have is a delightful cacophony of color, texture, and cultivars fronting the practicalities of the cornfield at the farm.
