With a nod to the mid century modern era and a balance of natural, warm elements this home displays a uniquely Australian design style. This home is a cocoon like sanctuary for rejuvenation and relaxation with all the modern conveniences one could wish for thoughtfully integrated.

Blackline Renovations

With the original, unfinished laundry room located in the enclosed porch with plywood subflooring and bare shiplap on the walls, our client was ready for a change. To create a functional size laundry/utility room, Blackline Renovations repurposed part of the enclosed porch and slightly expanded into the original kitchen footprint. With a small space to work with, form and function was paramount. Blackline Renovations’ creative solution involved carefully designing an efficient layout with accessible storage. The laundry room was thus designed with floor-to-ceiling cabinetry and a stacked washer/dryer to provide enough space for a folding station and drying area. The lower cabinet beneath the drying area was even customized to conceal and store a cat litter box. Every square inch was wisely utilized to maximize this small space.

Kan jag ha en egen tvättstuga i lägenhet?

Absolut, i vissa fall går det, åtminstone en liten tvättstuga. Det beror helt enkelt på hur din lägenhet är planerad och vilken boendeform du har. I lägenhet är det desto vanligare att man placerar sin tvättmaskin i exempelvis badrummet.

Jag hör ofta termen grovkök nämnas i samband med tvättstugor? Har det något med matlagning att göra?

Nej, det har faktiskt ingenting med matlagning att göra, utan det är snarare ett tvättrum. Med grovkök avses ett rum där du har utrustning för tvätt och grövre rengöring.

Finns det något jag behöver tänka på när jag ska planera en tvättstuga?

Svårighetsgraden i att bygga en tvättstuga beror på lite på huset och rummet den ska byggas i. Hur som helst rekommenderar vi i alla fall att du konsulterar proffs när du ska lägga in de rör och brunnar som behövs. Ett tips är också att titta på bilder på snygga tvättstugor för att få inspiration. Hur ska jag tänka kring det estetiska, som när jag ska inreda och måla tvättstugan?

Ja, när du målar i våta utrymmen som tvättstugor är det viktigt att du använder färg som tål vatten. Denna sorts färg är indelad i två standardklasser, Klass VT och klass VA. Med VT menas vattentätt ytskikt, och VA står för vattenavvisande ytskikt. Är du osäker på något, tveka inte att konsultera någon som kan färger och måleri!
