Up A Lane, By A Stream
If you created a patio it would look out onto fields, much better than this garden. I like the way the paving merges into the grass with the help of the planting
Top garden? Less grass, informal paving, mulched beds, play area - Interesting idea, like the rustic paving in this one.
I think this type of screening could work as well.
Informal patio
Lesson in how to lead the eye. You should be able to see a glimpse, but not the whole. There is a hidden corner to the right.
No grass, just gravel, paving and mulch. Low maintenance, ergonomic, interesting, textured. Hardly notice the trampoline because eye drawn down to paving
Fire pit, rustic paving, old wood seats, looking over fields in the evening
Romantic! Keep eye open for metal folding table and chairs at car boot
Oh how we laughed!! It's your house with a clever extension, obviously not to the left but end of existing kitchen becomes hall/mud room/cloakroom. Kitchen extends into breakfast room with patio doors onto courtyard behind. I like the roof extended around to create a covered porch and walkway - Ha took a minute to see this but can imagine this mixed with the over grown purgular below
Ummmm, converting your old front door into patio doors?
More weathered branches. How to convert a cheap shed into a play or tree house - could do this up the back where the ty bach shed was
Post and rail fencing - YES! need to get behind our fence and remove all the blasted "spikies" and re plant with meadow flowers, grasses and a safe equivelant of fox gloves etc..
This might be the door of a chicken coup. But thought it would make a good, unusual pair of low gates
So imagine your house is on the right, you have taken away some of the grass bank to make enough space for a sunny seating area. The road and people walking along it are screened. You loose the Tarmac path which draws the eye and energy straight to the end of the garden and gain an inviting, sunny, private space to sit and gaze at the view - Like!
Start collecting weathered branches!
Fluffy, light coloured and swaying grass in front of solid dark evergreen.
Raised herb bed, also clever screening.
Rustic hand rail
Perhaps not these flat pack coffins, but a cluster of raised beds to the left of your gate with structured shrub planting would fill a void and could be easily removed when you extend
