PGCC: Master Bedroom
Interesting approach. No headboard. Millwork. Mirror imbedded in millwork in lieu of headboard. I don't care for the mirror here. Not sure if any mirror would work for us - maybe though. Nonetheless, I like the idea of millwork combined with some large design element [like the mirror here] to create a faux headboard.
I like the clean lines of the trim work, the white walls, the artwork, and the neutral color palate with hints of a soft blue. I do not like the traditional table/desk, any of the chairs or the four poster bed. I do like the mirrored drawers as side tables as it also has simple yet traditional lines.
what if we did something like this in master bedroom except where the fireplace is would be a custom headboard? If you merged this and the image with the pull-out side tables and also created an alcove for the head of the bed w/ lighting it would be amazing.
this type of built in behind king bed surrounding windows!!
like the idea of built-ins around king bed that have a shelf below windows [similar to the seats below these windows within the built-ins]
another view of the built-ins with recessed headboard that could be done in wood or metal instead of upholstery
millwork - simple and elegant
sitting area curtains w/ bar that covers the entire space
Cedar planking in coffer, cedar planking detail above windows, paint color
consider using dressers to flank king bed in lieu of nightstands
note how pendants hang in front of - centered - windows flanking bed
artwork [everything else is too traditional]
wall of curtains [behind bed even though, presumably, no windows there] to create continuity
too dark but I really like some of the other elements ... mainly the millwork behind the bed and bedside tables [between the doors here but between windows in our room]. I don't care for the woodgrain look of the millwork but I do like the scale and the fact that it extends a bit from the base wall. It creates definition.
