Houzz, the platform that transformed home renovation and design, arrives in Spain

Houzz, the world’s leading platform for home renovation and design, today launched a dedicated Spanish site, houzz.es, and apps for Spanish iOS and Android users. Strong local demand for Houzz, and interest in Spanish design from Houzz users around the world, prompted the company’s expansion into Spain.

Starting today, Houzz will offer Spanish homeowners and design enthusiasts, an easy way to find design inspiration from over six million retina-quality photos of home interiors and exteriors; access home renovation advice from the largest home community on the Internet; read guides and articles from Spanish home design professionals; discover products to source for their projects; and research and hire the best Spanish architects, interior designers and other professionals who can help turn their vision for their homes into a reality.

More than 100,000 Spanish homeowners are already using the Houzz website and apps every month. Spanish trade professionals are active on Houzz as well, with over 3,000 home professionals already active on Houzz’s global website, using the platform to showcase their work, build their brands, collaborate with clients and reach new clients, both within Spain and globally.

Houzz was founded in 2009 as a side project to help its founders with their own home remodel. Since then, Houzz has grown organically to more than 30 million monthly unique users - 90 percent of whom are homeowners - and over 700,000 active home professionals in more than 60 categories, including architects, interior designers and more.

“We are excited to provide the enthusiastic and growing community of Houzz users in Spain with a dedicated experience to make the remodeling and design process even more fun and productive. There is also tremendous demand for Spanish design from the Houzz community around the world. This includes everything from bright, cozy Mediterranean homes in Andalusia to urban lofts in Bilbao and Barcelona to inspired design solutions for making the most of small spaces in cities like Madrid. As we continue our international expansion, we are proud to make the unique Spanish talent and design aesthetic part of the global design language that we’re facilitating,” said Adi Tatarko, cofounder and CEO of Houzz.

Houzz has established a dedicated team led by Managing Director José María Gaztelu to help both home professionals and homeowners get the most from the new Spanish platform.
