NAHB Forges Strategic Alliance with Houzz

The National Association of HomeBuilders (NAHB) today announced a strategic alliance with Houzz Inc., the online platform for homebuilding, renovation and design, to help NAHB home builder, remodeler and trade partner members use Houzz’s technology and marketing capabilities to connect with a large community of home owners actively building and renovating their homes.

As part of the alliance, Houzz will create an authentication mechanism for active NAHB members to verify their NAHB membership on the Houzz® platform. With verified badges, home owners can identify NAHB members who have specialized expertise in home building, many of which have received additional education or professional designations from NAHB to further their proficiency.

“This strategic alliance will be a substantial benefit for our members, giving them more exposure and the technology and tools they need to succeed in the 21st century,” said NAHB Chairman Tom Woods, a home builder and developer in Blue Springs, Mo. “Houzz’s proven, long reach will also raise consumer awareness of the NAHB’s mission and the contributions of home building and renovation professionals.”

“Millions of home owners come to Houzz looking for a professional to help with their home building and renovation projects,” said Adi Tatarko, Houzz CEO and cofounder. “We’re delighted to partner with the NAHB to help its more than 140,000 members, including builders, renovators and contractors, take advantage of the technology and tools Houzz offers to build their brands and reach new clients.”

NAHB and Houzz will also explore opportunities that leverage the unique research capabilities of each organization, providing members with stronger economic and demographic insights about their markets and the larger home building and renovation industry.
