Siblings Day Surprise: Jenna Fischer Secretly Remodels Sister’s Home in Latest “My Houzz” Episode

Houzz Inc, the leading platform for home remodeling and design, today released the newest episode of “My Houzz,” a video series that follows people as they renovate the home of someone meaningful to them. In honor of National Siblings Day, this episode features Jenna Fischer, beloved star of The Office, as she secretly renovates her sister Emily’s home in St. Louis, Missouri. The house holds particular meaning as it was designed by Jenna’s grandfather, is the home where her father grew up, and the host to many Fischer family events. The episode is available to watch now at houzz.com/myhouzz.

Working with a St. Louis-based designer from the Houzz community, Fischer transformed her sister’s outdated living room, dining room and closed kitchen into an open, light, family-friendly space, using Houzz at every step of the process.

“Four generations of Fischers have lived in this house, so this renovation was incredibly special to all of us,” said Jenna Fischer. “Houzz helped me create my sister Emily’s dream home, that’s perfect for her family. I used Houzz for everything from getting ideas to finding a designer with great reviews and beautiful work to buying amazing products, and it made the process so much fun.”

In the previous episode of “My Houzz,” Kristen Bell secretly renovates her sister’s basement, creating a beautiful, functional space for a family of six. Three more episodes of “My Houzz” will appear in the coming months. Each episode documents a well-known, public figure as they surprise a close family member that made a difference in their life with the gift of a renovation, using Houzz throughout their journey.

More information on Fischer’s inspiration and Houzz ideabooks, as well as products and materials used in the renovation, is available on Houzz at www.houzz.com/myhouzz.

“My Houzz” was shot for Houzz by Shed Media and was executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, Pam Healey, John Hesling, Bill Gaudsmith and Dan Pierson.
