Houzz Inc., the leading platform for home remodeling and design, today released the latest episode of “My Houzz,” an online series that follows people as they renovate the home of someone meaningful to them. The episode features actor Neil Patrick Harris as he surprises his older brother, Brian, with a secret renovation of his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The episode is available to watch now at houzz.com/myhouzz.
Harris used Houzz at every step of the process to tackle Brian’s under utilized den and unfinished backyard. For the den, he worked with designer Lisa Samuel of Samuel Design Group, who he found on Houzz, to create a modern, stylish space that Brian can actually use. Outside, he sought help from Solange Serquis of Serquis + Associates, also from the Houzz community, to transform Brian’s yard into an outdoor oasis, complete with dining, lounge and cooking areas.
“Brian has always been a fantastic older brother. He doesn’t always want me to spoil him, but I thought this renovation would help create an amazing space for his next big chapter,” said Harris. “Using Houzz, I was able to find a very talented local designer and landscape architect, share my ideas with them and buy everything we needed for a stunning transformation. I couldn’t be happier about how it turned out.”
Prior episodes of “My Houzz” have featured Ashton Kutcher, Kristen Bell, Mila Kunis, Gordon Ramsay, Kyrie Irving, Jenna Fischer, Ludacris, Clay Matthews, Mario Lopez, Olivia Munn, Tony Hawk and Deshaun Watson. Each episode documents a well-known public figure as they surprise someone who has made a difference in their life with the gift of a renovation, using Houzz throughout the journey.
More information on Harris’ inspiration and Houzz ideabooks, as well as products and materials used in the renovation, are available on Houzz at www.houzz.com/myhouzz.
“My Houzz” was shot for Houzz by Shed Media and was executive produced by Ashton Kutcher, Pam Healey, John Hesling, Bill Gaudsmith and Dan Pierson.
