Alex D Architects is an experienced architectural and property development practice based in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire offering services throughout the UK. A chartered practice in both the UK and Portugal (RIBA and ARB in UK, OA in Portugal), we offer a wide range of consultancy services to private clients across Architecture, Property Development, Project Management and Restoration of Old Buildings. We’re visionary in our work which is always balanced by our vast experience and strong focus on maximising Return on Investment and achieving plans approval.

We used Alex to do all the design and planning work for our side return and 1st floor extension. Alex did a great job and we are really happy with the end result. He was very helpful and really approachable. He helped navigate all the issues that a project like ours can throw up.

We hired Alex for a double storey extension design and renovation. Alex and his team were absolute professionals, from the initial consultation meeting with Alex, the survey with his team and the liaising with the council for planning. Alex listened to our brief, advised us on what was achievable and produced a great imaginative design, maximising the space we have. Throughout the whole process the communication was excellent and we would highly recommend Alex D Architects to anyone looking to hire an architect.

We used Alex to help us with ideas and plans for our substantial house renovation, following a terrible experience with a previous architect. As well as taking the time to understand our difficulties and situation, Alex actually went out of his way to help us improve the original plans and as a result we have a much better new design we are very happy with. He also helped us sort out all the structural and building regs drawings so that we have everything our builder needs. He was professional throughout and actually he's such a very nice guy and very easy to work with, so it made for a pleasant experience. I would recommend him completely.

The team with Alex's guidance have exceeded my expectations. They have delivered an amazing designed home which I didn't think was possible. Excellent customer service and highly skilled professional architects that made the whole process stress free with the different services they offer. We hired Alex to draw up plans for an extension and reconfigure the interior of our 1980’s house improving our living space. After discussing our requirement he presented ideas to us which were always creative, he responded promptly to any contact we made to him. We found him friendly and professional and his extensive knowledge enabled us to obtain planning approval with our local authority. We highly recommend Alex D Architects and we are looking forward to the next phase of taking the Plans through to Building Control.

We hired Alex to provide architectural drawings for a large loft extension and ground floor extension for a bungalow. With a colleague, he did a thorough site survey and produced planning drawings submitted them to the LA and we have now received full planning permission and moving to the next stage. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Alex Durao provided us with detailed drawings and advice , when we decided to raise the roof and put an extension on our bungalow. He thought of clever ideas of how to maximise our living space and modernise the dated 60’s bungalow look . His professional and friendly approach and extensive knowledge helped us get the plans passed with the local authorities. We highly recommend Alex D Architects and won’t hesitate to hire them again ourselves.

We used Alex D Architects for a two story extension and loft conversion. The work we wanted to carry out was extensive, Alex was very helpful and knowledgable about design and planning (specifically with our local authority). He went above and beyond in order to help us. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Alex, we now have a much better design/layout for our house, and should we decide to move, we will be giving Alex a call.
