Allison is not only an architect, but also has an eye on Interior Design bringing projects to a completion in a manageable cost. Her projects are real eye catchers and also very functional.

Allison is very knowledgeable, thorough and a good designer. She listened well and was responsive to our wishes. She was also very creative in solving both design and structural issues. We highly recommend her.

We are getting ready to do a fairly large renovation, the fifth one my wife and I have done in our 28 years together. We loved the bones of the house, but found ourselves a little bit all over the place and needed someone to help us focus. After doing a search I was able to find Allison to have her work with us on concepts to help us get back on track. We are so happy we were able to have her help us as we now feel our project is back on track with a level and quality of ideas that we were not able to develop on our own. Looking back at it I feel it important to provide readers a brief summary of the methodology Allison used to get us to our own design truth. For us, the core of Allisons knowledge and wisdom as an architect and designer was quite ingeniously expressed to us through her numerous conversation with us, her sessions if you will addressing the questions of what are our aspirations for our home. Her masterful questioning/inquiry methodology, listening to us, is her key to discovery of what our hearts and soul desire for our home but which we were not able to surface and express in a meaningful way. We wanted to create beauty for our selves and or community but we did not know how to articulate it, or how to approach creating it. Through Allisons empathetic questioning she was able to provide us with the indispensable component of all successful design - that is helping us clarify and simplify for our selves the seminal design concept that we knew was missing in our momentarily frustrated and arrested design process. Thanks entirely to Allison the newly resurrected renovation ideas, theme’s and practical application of those Allision was able to synthesis from us via our numerous conversations provided her with the material content and affective/emotional content she needed from us to develop am exciting progressive series of concepts upon which we could agree and choose before we committed to commencing with the renovation. Allison’s teaching strategy, her educational strategy, her intelligent, caring, truth seeking Socratic style of questioning freed us to express our sense of beauty, aesthetic truth, affective truth and design preferences. We thought of the process in which we were so fortunately engaged with Allison as a therapeutic and liberating process. To our delight that is how we feel thanks in large part to Allison’s professional and personal commitment to our renovation project and to us as human beings.

Allison Ong Shreffler created a dream home renovation for us. We wanted a larger kitchen in our 1950’s ranch and a few other changes so we hired Allison. We redid the entire first floor down to the studs including a new kitchen and master bedroom suite. We have lived in our home in Good Hope Farms for 35 years. We raised our family in this neighborhood. As we got older, we talked about downsizing and moving into a space where we didn't have to go upstairs to the bedroom and downstairs to do our laundry, but we just could not imagine living somewhere else. When we first considered adding a master suite addition to the main floor of our home, we had a difficult time envisioning the end result and moving forward. I contacted Allison earlier this year, with a very important renovation dream, of moving three disabled family members into my home for optimal loving care. She also personally chose the perfect contractor, as she knows that that relationship is key, in facilitating a smooth transition during the time of construction, while we remain living in the spaces. I can't say enough about how wonderful it has been to work with her over the past several months, and how much her work will impact my life, and the lives of my family, as the construction is about to begin.

I approached Allison with an idea for a new home. After reviewing the work of several other professionals I felt most comfortable that AOS understood the project concept. After a site visit a plan was developed with cost and material taken into consideration. Coordination with local engineering firms and suppliers ensured that the project would start on time and meet the local municipality requirements. The color plans provide a great guide for all trades involved and also as a reference for materials. The continued support and attention to the plan details are a testament to her professionalism.

I chose Allison Ong Shreffler as the architect to design a craftsman style 2nd floor addition for me and I am glad I did. She did a great job with the design, which looks great and keeps some of the original features of the original character of the home. This is exactly what I was looking for and I am very pleased. She is well informed and experienced in all aspects of the job and provides excellent customer service. Everything she did was done in a timely fashion and as promised. She even went above and beyond what I expected of an architect by offering advice on several issues. For example, in the beginning, we had a discussion about some structural issues in the home and she accurately predicted the repairs a structural engineer later recommended. She was very helpful to me in dealing with builders/contractors. Finally, I have found a contractor to build the 2nd floor and I have submitted the application for the building permit. Currently I am awaiting approval and I expect to get it quickly with no hassles, due to Allison's excellent work. When I was at the borough office, the zoning officer looked over the construction drawings briefly and said the architect did a good job and he said that I shouldn't have any problems with the approval as everything appeared to be in order and looked very good. I am very pleased with her work and if you ever need an architect, I highly recommend Allison Ong Shreffler!!

I have worked with Allison on several projects over the past two years and have been impressed with her product knowledge and how detail oriented she is. Allison designed my new home from the ground up.
