Established in 2001, AYA Homes specializes in custom home building, remodeling, addition and are focused on providing the highest level of customer service throughout the entire planning and construction process. With 23 years experience in building custom homes in the Atlanta metro area and then in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and now in Bay Area. Owner Shawn Ajdari has recently relocated with his wife to the Bay Area to help you build the home of your dreams, and to be closer to his daughters, who both work in high tech. He holds a degree in engineering as well as an MBA degree. With a love for designing, creating and building, Shawn is driven to succeed in this industry because of his clients’ satisfaction and joy upon completion of their dream homes. Shawn is a strong believer that customer service and satisfaction are the key to a successful business, and his commitment to his clients is to build them a home as if he were building the home for himself. In addition to construction, AYA Homes offers project development, due diligence for asset acquisition, construction management and administration for residential projects. We manage all aspects of construction and negotiated agreements with contractors, architects, engineers and suppliers for the project. The most important question we ask our clients is: How would you like your contractor to be, perform, and most importantly, "WOW" you?

Shawn and AYA helped me strip down our kitchen and pantry area, replaced vanities in three bathrooms and handled flood remediation work. They finished on schedule, left the place looking neat and clean and the craftsmanship was excellent. I highly recommend AYA for any job.

AYA Homes and team did a great job on our projects. This was an attic remodel, bathroom retiling, interior paint job, reventing some ducts and some stray items. The team was also great with our dogs. Owner/contractor Shawn was very responsive and fair.

Shawn is helping me with a number of projects as I try to refresh my 100 year old house in San Francisco. He has reliable sub-contractors and he is extremely responsive. He will not be your cheapest bid, but he will show up when he is supposed to, and he will manage his subs. Shawn earned my loyalty when my downstairs bedroom flooded during a major storm and he came over as soon as I called him. He had people at my house the next day to rip out the carpet and he delivered fans to help dry out the sub-floor. We were not in the middle of any other projects at the time but he still showed up right away and solved my problem, including installing a sump pump and better water diversion method to prevent this in the future, repairing the walls, and repainting the entire downstairs. When everyone else in the city had damage and couldn't get subs, Shawn always got people to my house. And thankfully, due to Shawn's strong recommendation, I had replaced my roof earlier that year. The roof was rock solid during a massive atmospheric river. Shawn is good with follow-through and he often has to chase me down to move forward with projects, not the other way round.

Shawn, with AYA Homes does it again! He successfully fixed the leaks in our roof deck and the resulting rotten ceiling in the bedroom below. He got this done in one week. Then we waited for 8 months for our tile to come in, due to supply chain problems. The day the tiles were out for delivery, Shawn scheduled with me to finish our long-awaited deck a few days later. The paver tile deck was expertly done by Shawn and his workers. This entailed both cutting the edge tiles to fit and adjusting the risers to allow for a completely flat deck above the bitumen substrate. It turned out beautifully and drains well. We couldn't be happier with AYA's work!

Ground floor remodel

Shawn at AYA Homes helped us with a significant remodel of our ground floor. Firstly, we chose Shawn for the project because his bid was well priced, comprehensive, and he took the time to really understand the job, before making an estimate. Working with Sean throughout the project was better than I expected. He’s a really good communicator, and says what’s going on when it happens, and keeps your expectations where they need to be. He was at the job site regularly, and throughout each day, including weekends when necessary, making sure thing stayed on schedule. When we had questions he answered them fully, and provided so much guidance as a result of his experience. We continue to use Shawn at AYA Homes for home projects as they come up, and he is always responsive and quick to get a team together to get the work done. Most importantly Sean can figure out what needs to be done, and get it done right.

Aya Homes (Shawn) did an amazing job on our house - so much so our neighbors came over and commented how great the new paint looked. His team also redid several of our windows, installed new lights, fixed parts of our roof and gutter and cleared out some of our old unwanted landscaping. Shawn and team took great pride in their work, were very professional and collaborated well with myself and my wife. Shawn was also there every step of the way, ensuring that things were completed to the highest standard. If we found any issues during and even after the job was completed, Shawn rectified those issues in less 24 hours. I have recommended Shawn to 3 friends/neighbors since meeting him and will certainly use him for future projects. I have found that the key in getting any work done on your home is trusting the team doing the work and knowing that they will stand by the work, during the project and more importantly after. Shawn and Aya Homes have certainly demonstrated that.

We hired AYA Homes to give the exterior of our 100+ year old house an overhaul. Within a week of meeting Shawn, he brought in experts, provided a proposal and started the work. His team restored and replaced windows, stucco patched and painted the entire house and trim, fixed gutters, replaced flashing, replaced lighting, cleaned windows, power washed, etc. Shawn is a great communicator who really cares about his clients. He was willing to work with us on price and provided an expert opinion on what needed to be done (or not done) and why. He was onsite almost daily and sent us photos of the damage as it was repaired. His team was always professional, on-time, efficient and friendly. As you can see, I have full confidence in AYA Homes and will definitely be using them to help restore the interior of our home. I highly recommend them!

Right from the start, Shawn wanted to make sure that his proposal matched the scope of the project. The team at AYA Homes did a great job repairing my front steps. The stucco repair ✅, the banister repair✅, the prep work before painting all of the stucco around my home✅, and the excellent paint job they did✅. I highly recommend Shawn and his team at AYA homes! They did extensive repair and prep work on our house exterior this summer followed by a complete paint job. Shawn is also a good communicator and kept us updated regularly on the progress. The work was high quality, attention to details, and very competitively priced. Shawn and his team led by Sam did a tremendous job updating the interior and exterior of my 100 year old home. 20+ windows were caulked and sealed; interior water damage repaired, cracked walls and dry rot repaired, new downspouts and partial roof replaced. Finally the entire exterior painted with 3 colors. All work was done with the highest attention to detail and professionalism.

Shawn is incredibly responsive and communicative. He called within minutes after I submitted my request for an estimate for gutter cleaning and replacement of an old downspout. A member of his team came by that same week to assess the scope of the project, and they were able to fit me in the next morning. The work was completed thoroughly and efficiently — the team even cleared leaves and debris off the roof. I thought that Shawn's work was a great value for how professional, capable and quick his team was.

Shawn responded to my request right away, assessed the urgency and complexity of my project, and had one of his team come over the next day. While the home repair wasn't a large project, accessing the chimney to repair and replace some cedar shingles was complicated. The shingles were repaired / replaced quickly, the work was very well done, and just in time before the rains and wind storms started. Shawn accepted a remodeling job for our 3 floor house which required restructuring and rewiring of kitchen appliances, updating bathrooms and general upgrading. I found him to be very reliable, a good communicator and problem solver. I was especially impressed by his desire to find the best products for our needs at the best price possible. Shawn is motivated and required no oversight on my part to keep the project going. He gave a very clear proposal and ensured my understanding. Shawn Aya of Aya Homes built the home that we bought. He built this house with a lot of quality in it. The workmanship was very good. The house has lot of upgrades that he put in the house. Some of the upgrades are 8 foot high insulated ceiling in the garage, a passive radon system, three-quarter inch stained solid wood floor, tray ceilings in all bedrooms, under kitchen cabinets LED lights, wider stairs to the basement, decora light switches to name a few. We built the house finished. Most of the upgrades he built into the house, we did not add them. We do not know anything about the project dates, costs, and deadlines.
