It has been an absolute pleasure to work with and to get to know Mary Ann and Scott of Baker + Hesseldenz Design. I first met Scott when he created a beautiful, custom silver leaf cabinet for me. He listened to my ideas and executed the piece exquisitely. The craftsmanship is superb, the design is contemporary, and it is a piece we will have for many years. Scott was easy to interact with throughout the process, was professional, and knowledgeable. Mary Ann has helped me with wallpaper and paint color selection. I call her a rock star! She has the best ideas and is incredibly easy to work with. She is perceptive and has a keen eye. Both Scott and Mary Ann have the utmost integrity. They are responsive and make me feel like I'm their only client, although I know I am not. They are artists, both with respect to the furniture they create and with the various design elements they use to create sophisticated spaces. I would absolutely recommend Baker + Hesseldenz Design for any design needs.

MaryAnn and Scott designed our library and six bathrooms. Everything came out to perfection. They were diligent in their desire to make everything beautiful. I highly recommend Baker and Hesseldenz for all aspects of furnishing and designing your home.

Clean Lines, Simple, Uncluttered...this is what we requested when we hired Mary Ann and Scott to transform a formal dining into an office and create a media wall for our family room. They did exactly as requested and exceeded our design expectations. Our office is both beautiful and functional with walnut shelves, cabinets and desk. Attention was paid to every small detail in workmanship and installation. In our family room, the design gives the illusion of a larger space with the eye drawn upwards to the tower of walnut surrounding the wall hung TV. We are very pleased with the finished product. Scott and Mary Ann are easy to work with; they paid attention to our design wishes, and were ready to address any concerns during the design process and installation. E. Price

Scott and Mary Ann designed our kitchen. The project involved the demo of 650 sq. ft. and the addition of about 750 sq.. ft. The idea was to come up with a wow design that would still blend into a 60's mid century. This also involved finding someone that could fabricate terrazzo and match our 55 year old colors. The project is nearing completion and I must say the room and design fit almost seamlessly into the rest of the house. It is both simple and elegant. This timeless design and choices of materials will look good for years to come. Not only were they professional to work with but also have become our friends. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

We hired Scott Baker for the second time again this year for a custom built-in cabinet and wood element for our bathroom. He is very easy to work with, his sense of style is great (as well as that of his partner Mary-Ann Hesseldenz) and the workmanship and quality of his work is excellent! We would not hesitate to work with him in the future.

We moved from the mid-west to Tucson about one year ago in anticipation of moving into the house we had been building. In the end the house took almost two years to build and we just moved in about 3 months ago. In the process of building we needed some custom woodworking done and our architect introduced us to Scott Baker. He matched paneling and stair treads to our existing walnut cabinetry and built us a really beautiful teak shower bench with “Nelson” bench supports instead of legs. Everything he did was perfect and exquisite. We would highly recommend him to anyone who needs imaginative and beautiful custom wood work. Scott is not just a cabinet maker, he is a true artist!

We found their website intriguing leading us to envision that Baker/Hesseldenz possessed the essential elements we sought for our kitchen remodel - classic features in modern design. Mary Ann and Scott applied their infinite reservoir of ideas to suit our requirements. Their efforts in providing wide-ranging choices in materials, appliances and design details were well tailored to our concept ... and budget. During the whole process they showed flexibility with regards to adjustments in function (Scott) and design (Mary Ann). As they both are detail oriented they are their own worst critic when it comes to finishing a project.

I moved to Tucson three years ago from New York, and fell in love with a mid-century modern home in the Foothills. My aesthetic is clean and contemporary, with an appreciation for natural materials that connect the interior of a home space with the beautiful landscape outside. Asking friends and associates for an interior designer referral, I was repeatedly led to Baker & Hesseldenz. Their reputation as the premier interior design firm in Tucson, producing work that rivals anything on either coast, is well-deserved. The process of transforming my home has been remarkable. Scott and Mary Ann have been attentive to all of my interests and desires, and have created a home that has surpassed my initial vision. Mary Ann is amazingly creative and intuitive, having brought her expertise, vision, and warm personality to the project; Scott is a meticulous craftsman and artist. Together they make a formidable team that can accomplish anything. I cannot recommend them more highly. They have made my transition to the desert and absolute dream come true.
