Kirk was asked to design the exterior landscaping for our new home. He came through with flying colors! We wanted something contemporary in style and individual in design. He gave us both! We will consider him again if we decide to relocate!

Kirk did a super job for us. Having a designer on the project from start to finish is the only way to go. Kirk's design, material selection, plant selection made our project spectacular. We would highly recommend him.

We contacted Kirk in June 2018 to design a pool for us and add a lot of pizazz to our backyard. We gave him lots of "constraints" for him to include in our design - spa/pool, big enough to do laps, water feature, new grill & dining area on the side of the house, larger fire pit, variable shade structure, rough cost, etc. Kirk's team came and got detailed measurements of the house/lot. We did our first 2D conceptual review in August. Kirk and his team had a number of good ideas. We hired him to do a 3D design which we got about 3 weeks later. He made many changes from the 2D to the 3D. We really liked his 3D design and ended up building most of it (had to make some changes to meet HOA guidelines). We continue to get many compliments on our backyard and are very pleased with our outdoor living area.

We were looking to create a complete outdoor living space that was functional but uniquely ours. We discovered Bianchi Design online and and I immediately knew Kirk had a special vision. Easy going and very pleasant to work with, he transformed our ideas into amazing concepts and wasn't afraid to push boundaries. His attention to even the smallest detail is what makes the difference. The completed project is beyond our expectations and my wife and I are extremely happy with the results.

It’s hard to put into words the transformation that took place in our outdoor space thanks to Kirk and his brilliant design talent. Kirk used his incredible gift and turned our pool, patio and BBQ area into an absolute work of art. He listened to our goals and incorporated all of our wish list items as well as a few unexpected surprises. Kirk carefully guided us through the process of selecting materials, colors and finishes to create a stylish and stunning backyard sanctuary.

Kirk is a master of his craft. I found Kirk after I purchased a new build in Arcadia Light which had space limitations in the backyard. I had three other highly rated pool builders draw up a concept in addition to Kirk but there simply was no comparison to his design. He used every inch of my backyard to create a final product that was astonishing. He was also engaged in the entire process and found multiple mistakes or oversights by the pool builders that were fixed immediately. He is extremely detail oriented and looks at his work as art and not just another job. If you're looking for something unique and extraordinary, you've found the right man for the job.

As an Interior Designer, finding a quality professional for the design team is critical to a successful project. I always approached each project individually from an "Functional Art" perspective. I was introduced to Kirk Bianchi during a project that we were both working on. Our clients realized that we spoke the same language of creativity and they were completely correct. Kirk is a joy to work with always creating from an artists perspective on his projects. Aside from attention to major functional detail, Kirk also masterfully includes those more subtle details that sets his pool design in a class of its own. For example, he will position a pool so that the reflection of a gorgeous 100 year old tree is perfectly reflected in the water framed by the pool. He always creates one of a kind, unique experiences with his pools and outdoor projects. We worked together on many successful projects making him someone I highly recommend.

Unbelievable!
Kirk's extraordinary design totally transformed the quality of our living experience and doubled our living space. The outdoor room he created for us is the centerpiece of our home.
Kirk's vision and insightful involvement during construction, with his team of builders, is what brought his creation to life.
When looking for help, we knew that we needed a true designer first, not a builder (that does design). We needed someone that really understood the big picture and that could see how all of the elements should come together in a cohesive way, to create a beautiful space that we would fall in love with.
What Kirk created for us isn't just a pool with some plants and lighting thrown in for embellishment. He gave us a work of art.
Now, every time we glance out to our backyard, we can't believe we get to live here and we love being home, outside, with our friends and family.

I would like to write my highest recommendation for the incredible backyard that Mr. Kirk Bianchi designed for us. After an extensive search for pool designers, Kirk's portfolio of prior work immediately impressed us and we were eager to work with him.
After we met with Kirk and discussed our goals for the pool and backyard, he took about a week or so reviewing our custom home plans and visiting the land we were building on to get a firm understanding of what we envisioned. Our very first review of his initial concept provided an incredibly smart design that worked perfectly with limited land availability and flowed incredibly well with our modern home design. Having requested a slight adjustment to the pool design itself, his second revision was all we needed to see before signing off on it. His eye for small details absolutely blew us away.
Seeing the design on paper was impressive and built up so much excitement for the finished product. Well, here we are a bit past a year of living in our new home, 2 swim seasons in the books and we are still absolutely in love with the backyard Kirk designed. We have received nothing but compliment after compliment for our pool and use of space in our backyard.
With that said, now that we have allowed this time to pass, I can say without a doubt that no better pool could have been created that caters so well to our style, functionality and architecture. We consider ourselves very fortunate to have had to privilege of working with Kirk and would highly recommend his services.

Having reached a point in life whereby we cherish living within our personally designed environment, Kirk has transformed our backyard from ordinary to extraordinary. Kirk is truly a professional in his ability to interpret client tastes and desires to generate breathtaking living spaces. Using state of the art design software, he was able to put in picture our design as it developed. It is uncanny the resemblance of the rendering to the final product. There were no design surprises. Construction was a pleasant experience due to Kirk's philosophy of staying actively involved with his subcontractors throughout the process. It has been almost two years since Kirk completed our "Resort" creation. We continue to enjoy it every time we raise the blinds. Kirk deserves a 10 in our book.

While he's known for his swimming pools, the spaces he creates are so much more than that, he makes places where the good life unfolds in the midst of gorgeous structures, plantings and water. My husband and I are in the process of building a home on a 3/4 acre lot - so the backyard is pretty large. For our initial consultation with Kirk I met him at his office in downtown Phoenix - and that was a treat just taking a tour of his office - very swanky :) Kirk spent the first hour taking me through his design process which is incredibly extensive and thorough. Kirk is not an architect / engineer in the sense that he takes your functional elements/requirements (ex. I want a pool, basketball court, and fire pit) and arrange them to make up your backyard. Kirk looks at your backyard as a blank canvas and he applies artistic techniques (which are extensive) to really create a masterpiece for you. I was so impressed with his demeanor, professionalism but I was even more blown away with how creative and knowledgeable he was. I highly recommend Kirk!

We hired Bianchi to design our backyard oasis. From the moment we met with Bianchi and went over his design methodology for determining placement of key features, we were hooked. Bianchi came up with an amazing design on for our golf course and mountain view property. The flow of the design, placement of entertainment areas and materials chosen, exceeded our expectations. Of particular note, was the indoor/outdoor concept merging a private courtyard into the master bath. We can't wait to get started on the project and begin enjoying our new oasis.

Bianchi thinks a lot of himself. He obviously has skills, but you'll pay high prices for them. Not very responsive, perhaps he's in great demand, but if you want to be treated like a valued customer rather than a commodity, there are better choices. He takes a long time to do anything, so you better be patient.

As this is an anonymous post, I am not able to speak to the specific experiences that BB alleged to have encountered; I am left to reply in general terms.
Those who have met me will attest that while I am passionate about my craft, I am from humble roots and that is part of my DNA. No amount of success or publicity will override that part of my character. I have a disdain in fact, for elitist pomp. I am grateful that I have a portfolio of clients that appreciate the finer things in life, as they have worked hard to achieve their success, yet they too remain down to earth, approachable, and genuine.
I have a very thoughtful design process, so I do think a lot about the recommendations I make on behalf of my clients. As a design professional, I would not be of much use to my clients if all I ever said was "Sure whatever you want to do is fine by me!" It's expected rather, that I would have an opinion about what is right for their project that may not be evident to them or the trades people at first, and that insight is exactly what makes me an asset to the client and installation team. In keeping with my nature, I always communicate with gentle conviction so that my experience can prevail and bringing about the best result for my clients.
As for pricing, there are plenty of salespeople at construction companies that do "designs" on spec, for free, in record time no less, and they serve a large audience for whom their services are appropriate. Those aren't the clients that call me. My clients don't want free design. They don't want whip-it-out-fast design. They want something special, unique, well crafted, clever, delightful. That's what I do, and absolutely and without apology, that takes time. Time to tinker and ruminate about every nuance to make your project the very best it can be. The business man will chide me and say, I will never design 100 pools a year, not even 10. Well, I leave that to the rest of the providers. In the mean time, I hope to design and build a project for those like you that are reading this review. Those that really appreciate an artisan and his craft, and are proud to affiliate with those who really care about the details.

Kirk is a very professional pool and landscape designer. He is a good listener and has very unique design ideas. We enjoyed meeting with him and viewing his projects.

Hire Kirk if you want a design that stands out beyond ordinary backyard pools. When it's completed, it will be a work of art and functionality.
We had a fairly large yard with a tall slope in the back. Kirk designed a modern pool with layered walls as a backdrop to blend everything in while still keeping the sense of spaciousness and softening the slope. Proportions and details are his strong points. Everything is in the right place, and nothing overpowers anything else. The long wooden bench in front of the raised bond beam is a beautiful feature.
We contacted Kirk after reading him describe his design concepts behind a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired pool. We knew that we had similar design and architectural tastes, so we hired him even though we live in San Diego and he works in Phoenix. He came out to visit our home and survey the yard. Then we worked via online meetings which is perfectly fine.
We had gotten a couple of designs from pool companies but those really just amounted to a large hole with water in the ground, with some water and fire features. Those wouldn't have had the impact that Kirk's comprehensive design does. After having done several indoor remodels, we began to really appreciate the value of design. You will have to watch the budget, though, as fine details cost money and not every builder can do it.
As John Muir said, "Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul." Hire Kirk and make that your home.

Smartest move we ever made. Bianchi Design turned our backyard into something we never dreamed possible in our small suburban lot. As our neighbor put it, "it looks like the Ritz Carlton back here!" There is a huge difference between our pool/patio space and others we know who just had the pool company do the design. An artistic quality... details that don't reveal themselves until you are sitting in the space, marveling at how perfectly it came together.
When working with a true designer such as Bianchi Design, the blueprint is not a "suggestion" or a "rough sketch". This is what the installers use, down to the smallest measurement. The separation of duties between designer and installer ensures that your design is in your best interest aesthetically.
We couldn't be more happy with our new outdoor space - both form and function. Pool, spa, patio, outdoor kitchen, landscaping. Amazing!

We hired Bianchi Designs to overhaul our front and back yards. The landscape was quite dated and the way it was designed, limited our use. We were looking for a design that was a bit more modern and took advantage of our backyard views.
Kirk spent time understanding our style by listening to how we would use the spaces. His plans were spot on and surpassed our expectations. He is very courteous, respectful, good sense of humor, and most important, highly talented.
Kirk also brings to the table other landscape partners (construction, pool, painter, etc.). Together, working as a team, they got in and out of this project on time and on budget -- and effectively worked through a few troubleshooting items -- which ultimately occurs on any project.
We highly recommend Kirk.

Kirk and company did an amazing job on our backyard. We couldn't be happier with the way it looks and the care that he took. Was it expensive? Yep. Was it worth it? Yep.
I wanted something beautiful, artistic, modern, sleek and amazing...and Kirk delivered. It is a pretty cool thing to have a backyard that is nicer than any resort you have ever been to...

Kirk Bianchi designed an amazing overhaul of our pool and backyard, including the addition of a gem-like spa, and 2 fire features. The design and colors work beautifully with our house and the existing desert landscape, but it is a completely fresh look. Working with Kirk, Morgan Holt of EarthArt Landscape, and Dan Goss of Daniel Goss & Associates on the pool, was a great experience. Everyone was very responsive to our questions and any concerns throughout the project, and they continue to be even though it is finished.

My husband and I enlisted the aid of Kirk Bianchi to design our pool area. What he did was transform what was a blank slate into a backyard that we absolutely love. He incorporated the style of our home as well as the mountains and desert terrain that surround our property into his design so that no matter in what direction you face your attention is drawn to an element of his design. In particular, we appreciate the reflection of the trees on the pool surface and arbor that appears to "picture frame" the mountains in the distance.
Kirk is very knowledgeable and creative. He is always calm, soft spoken and readily available if you have questions. The project was completed in the projected time frame and within the agreed upon budget.

We hired Kirk to remodel our backyard and couldn't have asked for better results. Kirk is great to work with - he listens to his customers, is extremely detail oriented, and has the creative vision we were looking for in a professional architect. Kirk recommended Earth Art Landscape as the project implementer. Together they didn't miss any details. They both are passionate about their skills and take pride in their work ensuring that the project was done with high quality.

The design was very unique, thoughtfully integrated with the existing house that remained, employing the very latest pool technologies. Kirk Bianchi is an artist and a master technician. We collaboarted on the design of the many exterior changes to this project and it was a joy to work with true "team player."

As a Watershape Contractor, over the last 25 years I have Been in the Position of Working With Many "Designers" of Aquatic Structures and Surrounding Hardscape/Landscape Elements. I can say Unequivocally that in my experience, Kirk Bianchi has no Equal. His Unique and Deep Understanding of all Aspects of Design is Apparent to Anyone whom has seen his Finished Works. And as though his Design Prowess Where Not Enough, the Element that truly Sets Kirk Apart from any Other, is his Depth of Construction Knowledge. This is a Component that is Virtually Absent or Ignored in Nearly all "Designers" and Even in all but the most Dedicated Contractors. When I Receive a Plan from Bianchi Design, I Know I have a Plan that is not only Beautiful, but is Viable to the Highest Level of Structural standards and Hydraulic/Fluid Dynamics. We hired Kirk to remodel our backyard pool and patio area. We have a very modern house, and we felt the landscaping needed to reflect the contemporary aspects of our home. Kirk is an extremely talented landscape architect who created a beautiful and functional design for our outdoor living space. As the former editor-in-chief of a lifestyle magazine (Food & Life Magazine, Scottsdale AZ) and executive producer for the partner lifestyle television show (Food & Life Television), I had the pleasure of choosing the finest craftsmen to feature - companies who did NOT advertise with us but who did amazing work.
Over a six year period the only pool and landscape designer I ended up featuring, was Kirk Bianchi from Bianchi Design. Repeatedly that company came out the best in every category, from visually innovative design, trend-setting concepts and customer satisfaction. To quote myself, Bianchi offers "the ultimate fusion of total outdoor lifestyle design." I did my due diligence and compared the work of other "top" firms, but they all fell short of the high standard that Bianchi set. Candy Lesher

My company, Natural Reflections Pools and Spas, has had the pleasure of being involved with multiple Bianchi Design projects over the past several years.
The attention to detail cannot be matched in our industry. Creativity is seen throughout exterior design in many facets, but it is such a rarity to be complimented by functionality. It is an absolute honor to be a part of the build and contribute to bringing a Bianchi design to life. The thrill of completing a project with this firm is unlike any other.... fire on, water flowing, perfect lighting, the clients' expectations shattered beyond their dreams.

Kirk did many conceptual plans for this project. Designing and working the elements to complete this masterpiece. It is his material selections and attention to the smallest detail that makes this happen. The images speak for themselves, a spectacular project that the client loves dearly. The best contracting experience of my career working with Kirk.
