Budget Blinds of Ottawa

I have recently purchased blinds from Budget Blinds Ottawa. The consultation went well and the blinds were installed in a short time. The blinds look nice BUT……they cannot be raised to open the window or to clean it!!! When the consultant was here he did say that due to health regulations they were no longer able to sell blinds with cords. But I don’t think I was unreasonable in expecting there to be some mechanism with which to raise and lower the blinds . NOT SO! When I contacted the company I was advised to use elastic bands to keep the blindS up on each end. 1. They are faux wood blinds and quite heavy. 2. When there are elastic bands on each end the blinds sag in the middle. And it is not easy to maneuver holding the blinds up on one end while the another is not held up. That can’t be right 3. I cannot get the blinds up enough to wash the windows and it is really stressful I have recently been in contact again as I cannot believe that they can seem blinds that can’t be raised and lowered. They said they were sorry I wasn’t happy with the blinds and would refer me to another company and ask for a discount on getting new ones. I paid $700+ for two blinds and I do not have the money to replace them as they are only months old. My husband recently died and I am on a very fixed income and this is so stressful and hard to deal with. If you want blinds that can go up and down, by whatever means, I would not suggest you buy from this company. J black

We ordered our blinds, shades and shutters for our new home through Budget Blinds. Lynne O'Neil met with us a number of times in order to ensure we were comfortable with our choices. The quality of the product is great - the installer, Eric Regimbald, was also a great help and provided advice on the maintenance of our products. The Mandarlay shades in the kitchen are stunning and the roman shades in the master bedroom are beautiful. We love the shutters - our only downside , was that it took 12 weeks (and not the 8 weeks originally planned for) to receive our shutters.
