Berkshire Mountain Design Build, LLC was founded in an effort to revive the historic "Master Builder" approach to the design and creation of buildings. This approach means working and studying in the trades for many years to learn the many materials, styles and proper methods of our craft before being able to design and manage the creation of buildings. We recently had the pleasure of working with Berkshire Mountain Design Build for a timber frame barn rebuild on our property, and we are thoroughly impressed with their service and craftsmanship. From the outset, Tony, the owner, and Peter, the general contractor, demonstrated utmost professionalism, promptness, and a genuinely kind approach. They were not only punctual in their timelines but also incredibly respectful and communicative throughout the entire process. The creativity and imagination that Berkshire Mountain brought to our design were truly remarkable. Tony and Peter listened to our ideas and transformed them into a beautiful, functional space that exceeded our expectations. Their passion for recreating historically sympathetic builds shone through, providing us with a deeper appreciation for the historical significance and evolution of our barn. This not only helped us appreciate the heritage but also enhanced the value of our home. The craftsmanship of the timber frame work was of the highest quality, showcasing their meticulous attention to detail and skill. While the services were indeed a significant investment, it is clear that Berkshire Mountain does not cut corners. Every aspect of their work is finished to the highest standards, making it well worth the expense. I write this after having the experience of building one house already. My first experience - with a COMPLETELY different builder/contractor, - was fraught with problems. In short, I learned that building a house from scratch can be hell if you don't have the right builder/contractor. Despite my previous experience, my wife and I decided to build a second home in the Berkshires and we hired Tony at Berkshire Mountain Design Build to handle the project. In Tony's hands, our experience could not have been more different than what we previously experienced. Tony handled every single detail from scratch to the final touches. He was meticulous in both his planning and design and also as a contractor. I have never seen a more talented and dedicated crew, either. Tony and crew built the house as if they were building it for themselves, which in a sense is true, because if you love your work, then the product you build on the job defines who you are. We contracted to build a custom-designed timber frame structure, which is a very special method of construction. Tony sweated every single detail, to the point where he often solved problems before I even knew they existed. The end product is easily one of the most beautiful homes I've ever seen. We are immensely proud to be the owners of our new gorgeous home, and I'm certain that Tony and I will be lifelong friends, because we both share a passion for the product that he personally designed and built for us. I should also add that Tony is one of the most honest people I've ever had the pleasure to know, and that is a unique trait in the contracting business. Tony is a builder you can trust to do the right thing. His integrity is outstanding, and so is his work.

Berkshire Mountain Design Build led by Tony Samale and his crew are one of the most talented builders in the Berkshires. They are more than builders, they are true craftsman. I supplied the Pella Windows for a project he was building for a client and I was just blown away to return months later to see the work of art that was coming together. If you are looking to build a home with quality and that will be a legacy home for generations to come you need to speak with Tony.

We hired Berkshire Mountain Design Build to do our full home renovation. The owner Tony Samale, and staff are very professional, honest, and reliable. He listened to our ideas for the remodel, and exceeded our expectations. We are very pleased with the excellent and detailed work that was designed by Tony Samale. He also suggested many ways for us to make our new remodeled home more energy efficient which he accomplished as well. We plan on building another home in the near future, and will be hiring Berkshire Mountain Design Build to do the project. We highly recommend Tony Samale and his team. We could not be happier with the outcome of our brand new remodel.

It has been a pleasure to work with Tony Samale and his team. The project involved removing an old addition, adding on to the back of the house with a new kitchen, dining, living space and remodeling the old kitchen and dining room into first floor laundry/entryway and office. The design build model has been easy to work with as there is no need to go back and forth between a separate architect and builder. Tony was able to take my ideas and make them work, even as my ideas evolved. Tony and his crew were very professional and took great pride in their work and in seeing that I was satisfied with the end result. They were real craftsmen. I would not hesitate to recommend Berkshire Mountain Design Build.

Our project consisted of exterior maintenance to our old cape cod house, including replacing the original siding (all clap boards but on the garage), replacing window and door trim, and regrading the yard and adding piping to improve drainage. While doing this work, problems were discoverd with the roof just recently replaced (by someone else) and these were fixed, thus saving future problems. All work was performed with excellence. Tony and his crew are very knowedgable and always kept us informed on project status. All issues that came up were discussed to get our input and understanding. Since this project has completed we've been complemented many times about how good our house looks and asked who did the work.

The team at Berkshire Mountain Design have been the best possible contractors for the repairs I have planned for my 1820 home. It had been vacant before I purchased it and recent repairs were poor quality. Tony is extremely knowledgeable in the design aspects of homes from this era as well as how to remediate issues and how to integrate his repair into the existing structure where possible. His craftsmanship is second to none, and the team is very professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend Tony and Berkshire Mountain Design for repair or new build when skill, craftsmanship and high quality work is what you're looking for.

We hired Tony and crew to design and execute a Post and Beam front porch using our own cherry harvested from our property. Tony chose the trees, harvested them , planed the beams , and designed and erected the most beautiful, elegant front entry we've ever seen or could have imagined. It has a simplicity that makes the most of the wood and complements the design of the house. His enthusiasm and craftmanship with the project was unparalleled in our experience.
