I highly recommend Bud Dietrich architect ! I am very happy that I choose them as the architect for remodel. Everything went according to schedule.

We have a 1960's-era home and were looking to improve the master and guest bath. Bud did an exceptional job of listening to our goals, and providing options for how we could achieve what we wanted, and more, within the space. He simplified the remodel, helped reduce our construction cost and saved some valuable storage space that we really didn't want to lose. Bud was very timely in responding to requests, completed the task within the established time frame and fee, and was very patient with us through the process. Can't wait to finish the construction phase!

I have had the good fortune to build two projects with Bud. His ability to convert and expand existing homes is second to none. His new homes are innovative and up to date with todays technologies and energy conserving features. When clients ask for a referral to design their projects I recommend Bud without hesitation.

As a general contractor, I work with many architects and I must say that Bud has been one of the easiest and smoothest I've worked with. He's always responsive to our needs. We worked with Bud six years ago when we renovated and put an addition on our home. When it was time to hire an architect for a new project, we did not look any further. Bud is professional, warm, receptive to ideas, creative and has now designed two homes of which we are very proud.

We worked with Bud on remodeling/expanding our 1940 brick cape cod and were extremely happy with the process and the result. He worked with us and the contractor throughout the 7 month project which helped immediately resolve any issues. We added a large kitchen/great rooms with sliders out to the rear deck and garden, a full basement below it, and a large art studio on the top floor (would likely be someone else's master suite). We were also able to reclaim the clinker brick from the rear of the house and made a front entry which now looks like it's been there forever. Bud devised a great flow, lots of interesting angles and a few changes of floor levels. We get complements from everyone who visits. He is a pleasant, relaxed guy who put up gracefully with my predetermined ideas and made this easy sailing for novice remodelers. Our other important comment is that he has a great sense of scale and designed the large addition such that it is not visible from the street. No "cape code wearing an oversized, plunked on addition" for us. I'm sure you would be very pleased with the process and result of working with Bud.

I hired Bud when I was looking for advice on selecting color to paint my house. We went back and forth via email with pictures, color schemes, color charts, and LOTS of questions (from me). He always replied in a timely fashion and provided thoughtful suggestions. Bud drew a sketch of my house and showed me how different shades of color would look best. He also gave me architectural ideas to improve curb appeal! Bud is patient, cheerful and easy to work with. I HIGHLY recommend him to help you with your architectural or design needs.

Bud Dietrich is a fine architect. He listened to our ideas and sought out our vision. He helped us refine this vision into a wonderful,beautiful, efficient and highly practical space. We recommend him to all our friends. We enjoy the addition-remodel every day. It has been 8 years since completion and it still thrills and pleases. This project was features on the CBS Sunday Morning TV annual art edition. There is no wasted space in his design. We live comfortably in every inch of our home yet never feel the need for more area. The design brings us together and allows us to focus on the beauty that surrounds us all.

I have just had the pleasure of working with Bud on an addition and overall design of an exterior remodel for our home. He was fantastic to work with. We already had worked with someone to draw an addition for our historic farmhouse but felt the design needed a little finessing. After a short phone conversation, I sent him the drawings to help select exterior trim, cornice work ect. Within a few hours of receiving my initial drawings, he was working on our project, reviewing every aspect of our plan and making suggestions that were superior in design than our original plan without increasing our building budget. Bud looked at every photo I had of our existing house as well as inspiration photos and was very interactive communicating with me several times a day. Within two weeks he produced beautiful detailed drawings for a very reasonable fee. He was skilled, efficient, reasonably priced and just a pleasure to work with. He really exceeded our expiations. I recommend anyone considering any kind of building or remolding project to give him a try. For the record, we did not have any prior relationship with Bud prior to this project. He helped us to: 1. develop a clear understanding of what we really needed and wanted in a second home in Florida, 2. search for a home 3. take the plunge with a house that isn't "perfect", but has great potential. Bud is a true professional - he understands not only design, but how to help you understand design and how it will feel to live in and use a space. Bud designed a large bedroom/ bathroom addition for us. He was so much fun to work with and, most importantly, he LISTENS. There were basic things I knew I wanted like a fireplace which was open on two sides to both rooms and a powder room that could also be accessed from the Master bath so that we had two toilets. Bud not only incorporated my wishes but he came back with so many wonderful ideas I'd never dreamed of....details large and small...creative use of space and materials. Bud is intelligent and intuitive in his designs. He included certain details which pay homage to my Southern heritage and to my background as an artist. He focuses on the client and the things that make that person who they are and how they live. It was a great experience working with Bud.
