We hired CMF Construction for a complete demo of an existing deteriorated detached garage and to replace it with an all new foundation, upgraded electrical and an attached customized workshop. Our selection of CMF was based on a positive recommendation from our neighbor who had Carlos build an ADU with an attached garage. The execution of the project exceeded our expectations. Once the permits were obtained, the construction, invoicing and communication went smoothly and per schedule. CMF was not the lowest bidder, but we felt that the quality of work more than made up for the difference in price. The finished building is beautiful, with multiple angles and a dormer with a clerestory window. The workshop area has the electrical set up for multiple benches and power equipment, drop-down stairs, and an electric lift to a roomy attic supported by a 12x6 inch beam. The new construction blends with our 80-year-old house and is a major enhancement to our property. Workmanship was professionally executed both by Carlos' team as well as his subcontractors. We would consider Carlos for any future construction needs.

If you’re looking for a contractor, I would put CMF Construction at the top of your list. My wife and I selected CMF Construction to build our ADU after receiving bids from three other well-known contractors in the Willow Glen area of San Jose. We could not be happier with our choice. Carlos Farias, owner of CMF, was impressive from project start to finish, which can be attributed to his thoroughness, knowledge, and experience. For example, in our very first meeting, he came prepared, annotating pdf versions of plans I had sent after our initial phone call. Later, upon receiving his bid, I asked him how certain he was about his cost and completion estimates, to which he replied, “quite certain – I do this a lot.” The project, estimated at 6 - 8 months, was completed in 6 ½ months, not including one month for a COVID shut down, while the total cost came within one percent of his original bid. Impressive as this was, our experience with the construction phase proved even more impressive. It became obvious that Carlos had carefully selected and trained his entire team. Each day, they arrived on time, worked hard, and cleaned up the job site at the end of each day. The quality of their work was outstanding and they kept us informed every day of the project. The same held true for CMF sub-contractors, who Carlos appeared to have selected with the same degree of care as his employees. Importantly, even though we had detailed plans from an excellent architect, during construction, we still faced a number of decisions about materials, placement and installation, and design. Carlos was a very good listener, but he was also not shy about making helpful suggestions. We accepted most of them, and we have been thoroughly pleased with the result --- he knows his stuff!

We bought an old, dark, smelly, house with a terrible floor plan. Farias Construction helped us turn it into a house full of light, elegance, and comfort. Carlos is a pleasure to work with, always patient, sensible, and ready to explain the most complicated of issues. His crew is on time, prepared, and extremely talented. We plan to do additional remodeling in the future and we plan to use Farias Construction again!

It really has been a great pleasure working with CMF from the planning stages, building, and finishes...even the billing process was simple and straight forward. Along the way we made some changes and you were always there to bounce ideas off of-I loved that you did not just say "ok" to my new ideas but instead thought about them, discussed them with me and some we did and some it made sense not to do after we talked it out. Our home came out absolutely beautiful and after interviewing 4 contractors we know we picked the right person for our project. We will be happy to refer you every chance we get and hope that all the bids you are writing for our referrals turn into good solid jobs so they can have such a great outcome too. Used him to convert my dining room into an office, and to split one big bedroom into two smaller bedrooms. Also, updated the flooring and trim in each of the rooms along with wall paint. Work was fantastic. General was professional from the get to. He took great care to protect the areas not being renovated. He made great suggestions.
