Carty Custom Builders is a locally based residential home builder that was forged out of the partnership of brothers Chris and Nate Carty. We have a reputation for building the highest quality homes and take great care to make the construction process as smooth as possible for clients and neighbors. Chris brings over 20 years of construction industry experience, including 9 years building custom homes in central Austin. He is a Graduate Master Builder, Certified Graduate Builder and Certified Green Professional. Clients have described him as having 'an attention to detail that borders on fanatical.' He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Post Soviet and Eastern European Studies and from George Washington University in 1997 with a Master of Arts in Russian. He has lived in Austin for nearly 20 years and currently lives in Hyde Park where he has restored several historic homes. Nate handles all banking and investment duties for the company. He spent 10 years working on Wall Street and 18 years overall in the finance industry before relocating back to Austin in 2015. He graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Journalism in 1998 and from Southern Methodist University with a Master of Business Administration in 2000. He is a CFA Charterholder.

We owned a small 1930’s bungalow and began looking for more square footage for our growing family. We looked for homes after homes and came across a property that had not been built or on the market. After only viewing floor plans we knew Carty Custom Builders was the one. They meet most of all our needs. Carty Custom Builders focuses on quality design with fresh and modern finishes. Carty Custom Builders reputation strives for high quality, creativity and attention to all detail. Chris Carty is always open to communication and always straightforward. It was a pleasure working with Chris Carty. After being in our home for over 2 years Chris has been helpful with any questions and concerns that we have had. Chris Carty was the project manager for our custom home build in Tarrytown and we absolutely think the world of him professionally and personally! Not only is he a pleasure to work with (cheerful, patient and respectful) but he was honest, results-driven and responsive, too. Chris listened to and addressed any questions or concerns that arose, remained steadfast in his effort level and commitment during our build, and very importantly, Chris always made himself available for questions or help needed after the build, too. Any custom build naturally has its ups and downs, but we always knew Chris genuinely had our best interests at heart and strived to get the results he'd want and expect as the homeowner. We can honestly say that Chris was the best part of our building experience!

We purchased a new house built by Carty Custom Builders. Chris and Nate were fantastic to work with. The house is well-designed, with many thoughtful features, plenty of room, and a pleasing curb look. It's a dream to live in, too. We looked at many houses and ultimately bought this one because it was far and away the best design and the highest quality construction of anything we saw. It was a great decision. And the Cartys have been very helpful post-purchase, helping arrange for their contractors to build additional custom cabinetry, and answering the occasional question that has arisen. These guys are the real deal -- they are good people and they know residential construction and design.

We spent two years looking for a new home that was well-built, with great finishes. We wanted to downsize without sacrificing quality, but the longer we looked, the more impossible a task it became. Then we drove by a home being built by Carty Custom Builders, called the number on the sign, and ended up buying the home. Throughout the process, Chris and Nate Carty could not have been more accommodating and attentive. Chris’s attention to detail borders on the fanatical, which is exactly what you want from someone who is building your home. Even after we closed, he has continued to stay in touch, making sure we continue to be completely satisfied. When he told us that he's the first person we should call if any issues come up, we believed him—he is true to his word. Nate, who handles the business side, was also a pleasure to deal with—completely up front and clear on every detail.
