Since buying our home on Seabrook Island in 2017, Harper Construction has done two major porch renovations at our house. Both upper and lower porches on the front and the back of the house were in very poor condition. Harper tackled these projects for us and did an outstanding job. On the front entrance, we upgraded larger pillars, a beautiful powder coated railing, Ipe decking and replaced the upper deck, that served no purpose, with a metal roof structure. The front porch, as the entrance to our house, is now a beautiful entry to our home. The porches that faced the beach were completely torn down and rebuilt from the foundation up. The site manager was great to work with and efficiently facilitated our changes as we went along. The finished product is fantastic. Both upper and lower porches now sport Ipe decking. Our lower porch is now screened in with ceiling fans and accent lighting and provides a "bug free" retreat. Our upper deck, with the cable railing system, is a great place to sit and relax and enjoy the beautiful evenings looking out at the ocean. Harper has some exceptional craftsmen and the work they did for us, will be enjoyed for many years to come. I would highly recommend Harper Construction for your home construction projects.

I am an interior designer in NYS (35 years/high end clients). I know my stuff. My project in Mt. Pleasant was all over the place, new windows, new railing, fix this, fix that, upgrade electrical etc. A real pain for a contractor. Chris had Adam as the foreman. They chipped away at this and got it done in very good time and at a reasonable price. Adam was unbelievably accommodating and never said "no" to any add-ons..and there were plenty. All of the subs they sent were top notch. In short, I was delighted and would use them for any project..I wish they lived up North! Pics to come once we finish the decor end! Wish that I could give the same praise to Harper Construction. Please save yourself heartbreak and disappointment by using another company. Harper completely renovated my condo on Kiawah Island. However, it wasn't a real renovation. By incorrectly installing new flooring, engaging in shoddy craftsmanship, and conducting poor project management, Harper destroyed my condo. This has been a terrifying experience. Promises, delays, abandonment. It has been two years since I have been able to stay in my condo. Two years. Harper promised that his company would stand by their work but they didn't. I foolishly believed him.

As the owner of Harper Construction I would like to respond to this review. I did indeed do a full condo renovation for Mrs. Bounds. The renovation went very well and she was happily living there prior to the issue being discovered. My company was paid in full and we had a good relationship with this client. About 2 years after the renovation was complete she started having issues with the wood floors. We investigated the issue and determined that there was moisture (humidity) leaking into the first floor from the crawl space. This is ground level 1 bedroom first floor condo near the beach on Kiawah (which after this issue we discovered has a history of problems like this) We investigated further to find that this moisture was causing her floors to cup. I contacted my general liability insurance provider immediately and they sent their investigator. It was determined by my insurance company that we did , in fact, install the floors correctly and that this issue was not created by my renovation and we were not at fault. Even still I pressed my insurance company to help Mrs. Bounds. This was to no avail. They denied coverage anyway. At this time Mrs. Bounds wrote this review of my company, and sued my insurance provider. There was a settlement reached and Mrs. Bounds condo was repaired. I say all of this only to say that I do understand why this review was written, however we have been in business for over 15 years and I have always stood behind my work & taken care of any warranty issues without question. This was a very complex issue and a reason why a contractor does and should carry general liability insurance, as this was ultimately an insurance and not a warranty issue.

As a follow up to a major exterior renovation that Harper Construction “knocked out of the park” for us a couple of years ago, my wife and I asked them to address some interior cosmetic renovation work– mainly sheetrock and flooring work. Again, Chris’s organization exceeded our expectations. We are thrilled that they give the smaller projects the same amount of attention and rigor that they do the larger ones. Our project manager, Dave Rust, orchestrated the involvement and timing of their craftsmen like clockwork and that work was performed to a tight schedule at the very highest level. Another job very well done!

I cannot say enough great things about Harper Construction! As an architect, I truly appreciated the attention to detail this team brought to the project. Each individual that worked on our home was professional and courteous. We completely gutted our home down to the studs and Dave Rust (Project Manager) worked with us on the fly through changes and unfinished details to ensure we got exactly what we envisioned. I would highly recommend to my friends, family, and those in my profession. We will be using Harper Construction on future projects to come. Thank you Harper Construction!

We recently had our home on Kiawah Island renovated by Harper Construction. We had 4 bathrooms gutted and 1 half bath added. In addition, several new floors were laid, electrical fixtures replaced, and had the interior painted. Harper also addressed many maintenance items that occur in an older home, including a new roof. Overall great experience! Dave Rust (lead construction manager) is highly professional and immediately addressed any of our concerns. We needed to have it completed before a special family weekend and they delivered! As with any renovation or build, items are caught on the walk through but these are also being addressed in a timely fashion.

My wife and I chose Harper Construction to renovate an older “vintage” beach cottage. We did so based on the personal referrals we received from friends as well as the competitiveness of their estimate. In every aspect of the project, our high expectations were exceeded. Throughout the project, Harper management acted as our proxy and as our advocate and provided critical expertise during interactions with the architect and other specialists. The quality of all of their workmanship was excellent. They are great folks to work with!

We renovated our master bath to a walk -in-shower. Dave, our project manager kept us up to date. The tile work was exceptional. All the subcontractors who came to our home were very professional.

Harper Construction, Inc., renovated our three bedroom Turtle Point villa. This included removal of popcorn ceilings, carpeting, flooring, and wall finishes; complete remodeling of the kitchen and bathrooms; replacement of exterior glass doors; installation of new interior doors, hardwood floors and specialty trim. The Harper Construction field and office staff are professional in every way and are focused on delivering excellent workmanship and customer satisfaction. They provide useful advice when dealing with inevitable renovation issues. Our project was coordinated from a distance, and we appreciated Harper's responsive communication and helpful suggestions. We are highly satisfied with their workmanship and would recommend Harper Construction to other renovation owners. A+!
