Om oss

Beautiful Interiors created with Practicality, Function and Comfort in mind. Although it's not very ladylike, my two-finger whistle is louder than any you'll hear. And coming from a gray-haired gal like me, it gets people's attention. A well-designed room gets people's attention too, just in a subtler, more pleasing manner. Great design is about more than just getting noticed and looking good, it's about practicality, function and comfort. I have always been a creative thinker with a knack for the visual and have been using my inspiration to make things functional, comfortable and better looking for years. I've had a number of different creative experiences that have contributed to this. Cathy Wall Designs LLC was born in 2004 from the idea that I could get paid to do what I love best, designing spaces that make people happy and at home. I pride myself on being a collaborator and communicator and look forward to the opportunity to work with you in shaping your dwelling.

Cathy Wall’s services were recommended to me by a friend, as I was looking to downsize from a 3200sq ft home to a 1200sq ft condo. Through emails, pictures and texts, Cathy helped me pick items from my home that were most meaningful to me, and help me design a new home in a much smaller space. She helped me focus on one piece in each room to bring out colors and design that enhanced my new space, and made it feel like home. She was amazing at introducing colors and textures that I would never have considered. She helped embellish the pieces I already owned, with fabrics and colors that made my new place come alive. She was very cost conscious, as well, and helped me stay within a reasonable budget. Cathy’s eye for design AND function is impeccable. I highly recommend her services.

This is the second time we have hired Cathy for her interior design expertise. Our most recent project is a kitchen refresh where we are adding a mud room and reusing some of our existing cabinets. Cathy gave us the vision to remove most of our upper cupboards and add subway tile to fit our Arts and Crafts style home. Cathy listened carefully to our needs, helped us to think things through in ways we wouldn't have, and added her own refinement to the mix. It was an absolute pleasure working with Cathy. She is smart, fun to be with, and full of good ideas.

Cathy did a great job in helping me design a dining room from an empty room - I am not a decorator and was somewhat overwhelmed by all of the choices. I had a piece of artwork that I wanted to go in the room and this became the piece we designed around. Cathy gave great advice, especially when she was explaining why something wouldn't work - those are tips I'll remember as I decorate other rooms. She also got me to see that everything doesn't need to "match". She was easy and fun to work with and stayed involved throughout the process. I love the way the room turned out and get compliments whenever people see the room.

We are delighted with the remodel of our living room, entryway, and dining room. It was finally time to replace the old carpeting and vinyl in our 70’s era ranch with wood flooring, and to discard the mismatched and worn furniture. We are so happy we worked with Cathy Wall. She helped us with numerous decisions that can be daunting when doing a remodel – maintaining cohesion with earlier remodels, integrating new pieces into an odd mix of mid century modern and ethnic prints, and mixing new and old wood flooring, doors and trim. Cathy was great fun to work with and provided guidance on paint colors, mixing textures and shapes, and furniture selections. We now have an eclectic, fun, and comfy space that fits us perfectly. I highly recommend Cathy and hope to work with her again.

First let me say I LOVE my new rooms designed by Cathy. My house had old walnut wall paneling, dark wood beams and just needed general refreshing. Cathy helped me choose my focus piece to build on and the rest is history. She provided floor plans/color boards if I asked or gave me ideas and let me run with them. The suppliers/contractors she works with are also top notch. Everything was done on time and with great craftsmanship. Her depth of decorating ideas is expansive. You can turn over the entire project to her or work side by side handling some of the improvements yourself. I highly recommended Cathy Wall Designs.

Cathy helped us design and implement a total remodel of our downstairs living areas. She designed an entirely new living room and study, with built-ins and beautiful and tasteful new color schemes. She also updated our sun room and dining room, with some minor adjustments and some more significant, but understated improvements. Nothing she suggests will break the bank but it all adds value. The results are not just stunning, they are warm, livable, and inviting. We would (and will) use Cathy again on any project that requires a new design or a creative eye. If this is what you need, you need to hire Cathy!

Cathy Wall was recommended by several friends who hired her to do some room remodels and were thrilled with the results. I needed help with choosing paint colors for our new home and consulted with Cathy for that and several other decorating questions. Her knowledge of color and types of paint, as well as the many variables that can influence how it will look on a wall was invaluable in making my choices. Her suggestions made all the difference in the final paint choices, and her input on trim and ceiling colors really made the rooms look elegant. I wouldn't have been able to achieve the look I wanted without her help. Best of all, Cathy is so encouraging and fun to work with-a welcome perk during the stress of home building.

I have worked with Cathy Wall Designs for a living room re-do and am currently working with her on a bedroom makeover. I can't recommend Cathy highly enough. Many times she has 'talked me off the cliff' and she somehow consistently manages to adapt my unclear vision into something fresh, cohesive and current. The highest praise, however, was given by my husband who said of the living room, "it seems like we built on another room-I'm always in here now!" Cathy has used my eclectic furniture gathered from our many moves and worked them into something which has a unified feel. She is never one to 'over-sell' and is a pro at redoing, repurposing and reusing pieces from your own house or resale shops if that's your preference. I am so happy to recommend not only her services, but her blog which is both innovative and inspiring.

Kommenterade: Type of woodThe wood is a clear Alder with no stain. I have used the clear Alder in several projects and love it. Alder typically has knots, so be sure to specify "clear."
