For over 30 years, Cynthia Fink (owner of DC Design LLC) has been a practicing, registered landscape architect, licensed in the state of Michigan, and serving clients throughout Southeast Michigan. Specializing in residential design, Cynthia enjoys taking the time to listen to clients’ goals and working with homeowners to uncover each site’s unique potential. Every project, no matter the size, deserves the attention of a well-studied, intentional landscape design. Throughout her years of experience, Cynthia has designed and reimagined every kind of site, from small urban gardens to suburban landscapes to large, sprawling estates. Her mastery of creative problem solving results in gardens that are seamless in both beauty and function. Cynthia participates in all aspects of the design process, including field measurements and analysis, design, and drafting. As an independent designer, she is able to assist clients to obtain contractor bids and is happy to make personal recommendations. Cynthia is also experienced in project management and will provide this upon request.

Working with Cindy for several summers has been such a pleasure! She has completely transformed my garden areas with her ability to “paint” with plants. She is able to envision how a garden will look in a few years’ time as well as how it will change with the seasons. In addition to knowing what combinations of plants are attractive, she is also very knowledgeable about the amount of light and type of soil different plants need in order to thrive. I’ve particularly appreciated her willingness to work with my existing plants and shrubs and not insist on replacing everything. Left to my own devices I would choose plants and colors I know and love, and the result would be a hodgepodge of sizes and shapes. Cindy has always listened closely to my preferences, managing to incorporate them into her much more artistic vision, and the results are really quite lovely! Thank you, Cindy!"

Knowledgeable, efficient and reasonably priced. Cindy did a great job on my entire property. Per my request Cindy did the designs and I implemented the project as my budget allowed. She has been great at returning to my home to assist me with care of the landscape now.

Cindy did a beautiful landscape design for my front and back yard, including two rain gardens. She was a delight to work with, reasonably priced, and very knowledgable about plants and worked within my budget. She also recommended some excellent landscaping services and a tree surgeon. I regularly get compliments from my neighbors on my beautiful yard.
