Denali Homes

We hired Denali for some remodel work. Very happy with how the project turned out. They stayed on schedule, helped us stay on budget and the work is high quality.

We really took our time in narrowing down our options for builders in the Omaha area. We settled on Denali Homes due to their knowledge of the industry and ability to explain their process in an open and honest way. We really had a good feeling about them from the start. If you've ever built a custom home before, you know how many different things can pop up along the way. This was the third time we've built new, (first time in Nebraska) so we knew that the building process can have the occasional surprises. Denali did a great job of guiding us through those and really helped us in making informed decisions that would work best for our family. All in all, we LOVE our home. We were able to customize it to fit our lifestyle and you can absolutely tell that high quality materials and craftsmanship were a top priority in the build. Thank you Denali!

I would not recommend this builder. Craftsmanship I would rate a eight out of 10, however on honest dealings I would rate a 2 out of 10.

We had a terrible home-building experience with Denali. We were initially attracted to their ability and willingness to build a custom home; their (alleged) approach to honest communication with buyers; and their (once again, alleged) attention-to-detail. About halfway through our experience, we had a meeting with Justin, who told us that Denali was forced into their contract with us by their hired real estate agent. He stated that Denali would be losing money on our house and recommended that we remove our chosen upgrades, which would then reduce our variance charges, which he estimated to be $7000 at the time. We regretfully agreed to changes. However, when the project was completed, we had a variance fee well above $7000 and didn’t have the upgrades that were initially in the contract. So we paid more and got less, essentially. There were several areas of poor-quality workmanship, which we pointed out throughout the process. Justin’s response was, “if I cut corners, you would never know.” Except we did. For example, they chose to install cabinets and countertops on their own and did a TERRIBLE job. We brought it to Justin’s attention, who agreed the work was done poorly and proceeded to fault their cabinet supplier. We brought the supplier out, and that’s when we found out that Denali did the install themselves. Their supplier stated, “this is a huge project” when we they came out and agreed to fix Denali’s work. They also chose to do the final cleaning themselves, despite listing a professional clean in the contract, and that was a very obvious shortcut. In addition, we were told that they incorrectly measured the master shower, and we would have to choose tile instead of a fiberglass bottom. Mistakes happen; we understand that. However, Justin took no accountability and expected us to cover the cost of their mistake. These are just a handful of many examples. For closing, we had a list of items we wanted addressed prior to signing. Justin told us 99% of the list was done the day after we submitted it. We calculated 7% of our list was completed. We didn’t even have a bathroom countertop installed, which had to be redone because the incorrect plumbing fixtures were placed. He then told us that we would have to pay him interest every day that we pushed back the closing date, even though the house wasn’t completed; in fact, the house didn’t have the necessary safety components done, as the electrical inspector arrived during our final walkthrough. Of course, we also submitted a list of warranty items, and the large majority went unacknowledged. We’ve had to replace or repair items that should’ve been covered, but it was better for us to cut ties with Denali. We did feel that Josh was extremely pleasant to work with; he was aware of project timelines and would communicate effectively when we reached out to him.

Denali Homes Omaha is great to work with and has amazing ideas! Their personal involvement throughout construction is a relief when going through the building process. They have experienced vendors that have quality products. Highly recommend!

This was out second time building and what a difference Denali has made. After our first experience I wasn't sure if we wanted to build again and I am so happy we chose to go with Denali Homes as they have showed me not every home builder is the same. The attention to detail and responsiveness was amazing, not to mention the quality of work as well!
