Doron is a brilliant architect and wonderful to work with. We bought a plot of land specifically for the view and wanted a house that would maximize that view. We’re also in the middle of wildfire country so needed a design that made the house as wildfire resistant as possible. He designed a stunning home that is as functional as it is beautiful, is state of the art in wildfire safety, and has views from just about every room. He’s incredibly creative and figures out a way to solve every problem you throw at him, no matter how challenging. Another wonderful part of working with Doron is that it’s a true partnership – he comes with his ideas but works with you to find the ultimate best design solution. He doesn’t just design in a vacuum and present you with a finished solution which may not meet your needs.

Deron is an accomplished and talented designer and General Contractor. I have worked on multiple high end residential and commercial projects with his for over 20 years. His attention to detail and outside of the box thinking creates amazing architecture where nothing is left to chance. His creative designs give each project a one of a kind solution which is refreshing in this cookie cutter world of architecture. Deron is committed to his craft from start to finish, from the time he picks up a pencil in the first sketch to the final nail in the project. I would choose Deron again and again!

It was a pleasure to find and view the work Spire Architecture on their Houzz page. It was apparent from the variety of project types, scale, site and assumed program requirement that Spire does not start with a styled solution but appropriately with a basic and too often overlooked design approach. A collaborative approach which includes active input from client architect and builder is absolutely essential. It should also be obvious in this day and age of complex building systems, delicate environments and an evermore realization the built environment needs to acknowledge the environs beyond the property lines. Applying these basic truths with involved and sensitive clients can have satisfying results as evidenced by Spires built work. It is also apparent attention to details both big and small from spatial flow and massing down to material texture and textile qualities of the surfaces everything has been well though out. Which implies it has also been thoroughly discussed. It is rare and pleasing to the level of attention given from siting down to the smallest detail. Bravo Spire. I look froward to seeing more. Doron Dreksler and SPIRE ARCHTITECTURE do a fantastic job of designing unique, efficient and ergonomically functional homes which compliment the site for which are designed and built. The ability to "see" a parcel of land and take advantage of its unique features and components for a truly custom and well integrated home is a well developed skill. As a design engineer (mechanical and energy), I appreciate the thought and collaboration that takes place with each home design to insure the infrastructure functions properly and efficiently for the client. Having Doron onsite as both the architect and contractor allows for a seamless process from design concept to realization . . . insuring an overall excellent experience for the client. Highly recommended!

I have worked with a handful of architects over the last 15 years of building homes for resale and Doron is by far the most talented I have run across. My wife was wanting someone "special" who was creative, flexible & would be fun to work with for building our own personal house; she found and called up Doron & the first thing he asked us to do was to interview other architects (who does that???). Our lot/land was challenging because we wanted to build around two mature Oak trees & it was on an upslope, the design / plans he created ended up stunning. Also Doron's design process is totally different; he got us involved by sharing 3D plans via a video where he would explain why he was doing this or that, it was mesmerizing. The whole process of working with Doron was truly an unique experience that made designing the house really fun & its great to have something special at the end. Dennis

Doron and I worked together at PHA Architects in Sacramento for around 5 years or so. I want to say 2003 – 2008. I was the Senior Architect and Doron was our lead designer, working on both commercial and residential projects. I specifically remember five; A very unique condo project on the Sacramento river, three radically contemporary custom homes (Beutler, Dorn, Giguiere) and, most notably, a very visible multi-theater complex in downtown Sacramento. Each of these allowed Doron the opportunity to apply his design talent in several distinct ways. For the condo project is was site circulation, color & detail. His charge for the custom homes was to negotiate a client’s inability to know, let alone convey their desires…which he ultimately did, producing striking architecture our client’s love. Our theater project offered us both a rare opportunity to delve into programming for a very prominent public facility of extensive scope. In addition to his design talent, Doron exhibits a true passion for the profession, unlike anyone I’ve ever encountered in my 42 years in the industry. I vividly remember the seminars and discussions he hosted during lunch hours revolving around his whim at the time; architectural history, acclaimed architect’s profiles, trending design, etc. During our collaboration I always found Doron clever, technically proficient and always entertaining. It was a pleasure working with Doron and I wish him the best throughout his career.

Doron Dreksler has trusted my services as a professional engineer since 1986. As a young man completing his architectural training he demonstrated professional integrity dealing with the client, contractor and building department staff. Over the years, Doron has expanded his talents obtaining his general contracting license. He is unique as he facilitates control for the design and construction. This has benefited the client as he designs the structures for the real world of construction and expedites any field changes as the Architect-of-Record. My most recent project working with Doron as his Engineer-of-Record is the Martini residence in Marin County. The structure is a nightmare of issues built in stages with limited County records given some of the improvements were made without permit. The Building Department provided multiple plan check requirements delaying the permit application. Once under construction demolition revealed rotted structural members necessitating further delays expanding the scope of work for the client's approval. To further complicate the issues, the Building Department was overwhelmed with all the field changes. Each inspection notice was promptly addressed, however the records of the Building Department were not maintained consistently. As a result the final inspection was delayed significantly requiring multiple Letters of Structural Observations. Through it all Doron stayed the course sacrificing other client opportunities to complete the job. I am very proud of Doron for what he has accomplished and for what he will accomplish in the future.

Doron has been great to work with on my plans for a major home remodel project. Project plans were thoroughly and clearly prepared, doron handled all coordination with the structural engineer and all the interactions with the County. Throughout the project, doron was careful to make sure that my questions were all answered, requested plan changes were completed as requested, and that the building plans were approved by the County.

We contacted Doron regarding a 70 acre piece of raw land in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada that we recently acquired. This land has a variety of terrain, plant and animal life. Flats, trees, grass, gentle hills, steep hills, a spring, a pond, a seasonal creek and a quasi marsh area. It is bordered on two sides by roads and on two sides by open/ranch land and has multiple possible home sites. Initially we were drawn to Doron for his innovative home designs and ability to go very green in construction. However we absolutely needed someone capable of viewing our property in whole. Where were the building sites and what were their advantages/disadvantages? Where should the 1/2 mile long driveway go? What was the impact of the harsh summer sun on the various sites? What about prevailing winds, the possible noise print from the roads, using existing trees for shade, well and septic location, solar panel location? ....The list of possibilities seemed almost endless. Doron was enormously helpful in sorting these many parameters and permutations and them presenting them in a straightforward manner. After selection of a building site began the very fun process of home design. Being an older couple with more than a few complicated (and seemingly paradoxical) design requirements, I was often surprised at Doron's creativity and problem solving. As I'm a bit OCD and maybe a slightly "glass half full" kind of person and always drawn to the difficulties and problems in any given situation, I was super appreciative of his ability to come up with solutions addressing my concerns. And because he comes from a building background (he spent significant time in construction prior to becoming an architect) his architectural creations are real world and imminently do-able and in context. I had confidence that his designs would translate well into the real world. --I think there are many architects for which this is a problem. We had a great time working with Doron and I can't imagine finding a more creative and talented person to to help us in this big process.

Their are Architect's and their are innovator's and Doron is an exceptional innovator. We have been working friends for many years and I must say, "he never ceases to amaze me with his vision"...
