We used Jay at Garden State Soapstone for several projects in our house. From Our beautiful soapstone island and countertops to our gorgeous custom dining table and breakfast bar. He’s very professional and understood what we were looking for. He worked with us every step of the way, double checked our measurements and made sure everything was right! Plus we have the custom looks we wanted in our new home! Thank you Jay! We can’t wait to show it off.

I’m so glad we decided to go with garden state soapstone for our kitchen countertops. We made the trip up from PA to NJ and met with Jay, who talked us through our options and made us feel confident in our decision to use soapstone. Templating and installation were seamless. The countertops are beautiful and durable. We love how they turned out and they are one of my favorite parts of our new kitchen.

Jay installed the countertops in our new kitchen - Old Dominion soapstone for the periphery and Cherokee marble for the peninsula - and he did an amazing job. He knows his stuff and is great to work with. Always professional, responsive and provides great advice. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him and never felt pressured to hurry into any decision - and goodness knows that I went back and forth more than once before settling on the gorgeous Old Dominion soapstone! We highly recommend Jay!

Jay has beautiful soapstone and a wealth of knowledge about it. He asks about the design of the space so he can help you choose the best piece for your project. It was easy to communicate with Jay and he was extremely accommodating about working with our schedule and our contractors. Jay was both a skilled craftsman and artist in the installation of the countertops. We could not be happier with our countertops and the services that Jay provided.

We give the highest recommendation to Jay Tauber. Our first project with Jay was a slate fireplace. The hard part of our request was honoring and incorporating some of the original stone work. The result was more than we had hoped for. Next project, Jay created and installed gorgeous floating wood shelves. We are thrilled with the results. Jay is a skilled professional. His standard is perfection. You can expect excellent workmanship and gorgeous results. If we have another project that we can turn to him to, we will.

Worked with jay from garden state soap stone, the service was punctual , he met me right away , and I had my walnut counter installed with in one month of meeting with him . Great quality wood , they carry high quality materials , very happy will Be using them again!

Jay just completed the fabrication and installation of my Pacific Soapstone countertops and custom sink and I couldn’t be more satisfied. He is a true artist in every sense of the word. He takes great pride in his work, keeps the lines of communication open, and follows through. It is evident that he knows and believes in his product. Soapstone is truly organic in look and touch. It has given my kitchen a new earthy vibe and I couldn’t be happier. I’m including photos however I’m still waiting for my tile backsplash to complete my project.

Jay worked with us to choose the right dimensions for our dining room table (modified when requested), pick our soapstone piece, help determine weight capacity for our room, did beautiful work, delivered and installed in our home. We recently had our Soapstone countertop replaced by Garden State Soapstone due to damage during Hurricane Ida. I couldn’t be more pleased. I had some reservations about getting Soapstone again. However, we met with Jay and he listened to and addressed each of my concerns. He showed us many different Soapstone options. He was winning me over and I am so glad he did! Once we made our selection we set up a schedule. Jay was true to that schedule and within 2 1/2 weeks from our first meeting, my new countertop was installed. He went over maintenance and answered any questions we had. He even took and disposed of our old countertop. We’ve had our countertop for 3 weeks now and I am in love! I would highly recommend Jay and his company, Garden State Soapstone to anyone. Jay was prompt, pleasant, professional and his creative skills and attention to detail are unmatched. Kommenterade: Soapstone - can we oil after waxingIt sounds as though you may have a traditional soapstone which is softer and has more talc. Therefore it takes longer to age or darken. Continue to apply your soapstone wax or oil more frequently.
