Naomi Burl. Full gut-renovation of a large 5 b

Georgina Gibson Interiors was recommend to us by friends and we have not been disappointed. The team approached the project with a steady command, helping us locate a fantastic building firm who did an outstanding job. Thanks to the team’s breadth and depth of knowledge and experience, the journey through the meat of the build and then into the interior finish was seamless. Georgina and each of her colleagues are very easy to communicate with and we never felt steam rolled into decisions we were not 100% on board with. The team enable you to express your vision and then skilfully bring it to life. Where guidance and perspective are needed, it is given but as a client we always felt we had ultimate control our project. What is, we imagined, often a sensitive partnership felt natural and based on respect and open communication. The team were able to offer us multiple, high quality options for the purchase of all fittings and furnishings. We were very satisfied with the finished job and have Georgina and her team to thank for that. We would highly recommend this firm.

We have now completed a complete renovation on two different houses with Georgina. Both projects were very different - one an old country house and the other a Victorian townhouse. She and her team delivered two totally different but equally brilliant looks for the properties. She is a joy to work with, full of great ideas and also collaborative. She brings a superb team with her, which ensures the project runs smoothly from start to finish. We were so pleased with the renovation that she did for us in the country, we immediately thought of her when we came to do up the London house. We would highly recommend her.

We went with Georgina Gibson Design for the interior design for the remodeling of our seaside home after getting a personal recommendation. They didn't disappoint us. Due to Covid and building material delays, the project was extended from a 9 month to an 18 month timeframe. We are based abroad and were not able to get back for meetings so the whole project was conducted via Zoom and sending samples by courier. We think time worked to our advantage in not rushing the design - which evolved ...! We've ended up with a look that we wouldn't have thought of at the outset , but that we are more than happy with. Terrific job, Georgina and team.

Before meeting Georgina I had doubted that anyone would want to take on the project of renovating my house - such was the scale of what needed to be done. However, Georgina was the epitome of positivity: she understood what I wanted, she had ideas of her own, and she was confident she could help. And help she did. Georgina provides the complete service: ideas, design, costing, engaging contractors, dealing with regulators, and complete project management. It has been a huge weight off my mind knowing that Georgina is dealing with everything. The work is not yet quite complete (about a month to go), but seeing the progress from shell-of-a-house to an inviting and functional home has been an amazing journey. I would not hesitate in recommending Georgina to anyone looking to improve their home.

Georgina has been fantastic. Easy to work with in every way, great design ideas that really fit with our lifestyle, great knowledge about sourcing and understanding of costs. We were really pleased that we used her to project manage the job as well. It made it all much straightforward for us and when there were hiccups she dealt with them efficiently and promptly. We felt looked after in every way. We love how our house is now and live better because of the design that Georgina created.

Georgina has been excellent to work with throughout my project. She took time to really understand what I was looking for and to recognise where I needed encouraging to be more imaginative! Despite an initial holdup, thanks to delays with the Managing Agents and Westminster City Council, the project got going and ran to time and budget, subject to a few last minute changes by me as we progressed. I am delighted with the result which was effectively a full refurbishment of a tired 2 bed flat in Central London including Listed Building consent which she coordinated from start to finish.

Georgina is great. She understood very quickly what we were looking for and gave us lots of ideas to choose from. She also presented some cost effective ways of achieving a similar effect which was great as we were needing to design some key spaces ina large extension.

Georgina took note of our wishes, suggested various ways of meeting them then engaged and managed the team to do the work, which was wide scale interior refurbishment of our house, including new kitchen, upgraded electrics, moving boiler, lots of joinery and redecoration.

Georgina advised us in connection with our ground floor renovation. This involved a new kitchen, structural alterations, new doors to the rear and alterations to the staircase. Georgina supported us in developing a clear plan that has delivered a ground floor layout that now flows effortlessly from room to room, making excellent use of areas that were previously wasted space. She was especially helpful with her creative ideas and in the use of colour and materials to deliver the result that we were hoping for. Georgina is approachable, offers excellent ideas with different options and valuable guidance. All in all, we have been most impressed. We would not have been able to do it without her.

Georgina was excellent at managing the project right through from initial designs to overseeing the builders. She listened to our thoughts on the type of home we wanted, took them on board and came back with designs. After lots of face to face sessions, where she continually provided samples of fabrics and paints, most decisions were made. Georgina helped us choose a builder which turned out to be very professional and oversaw all the works, chasing when required. I would recommend Georgina to others.

Georgina has been fantastic. She has created a lovely family home for us. She was full of wonderful ideas, thoughtful and listened so well. She understood our style really well and then challenged us a little so that we have some lovely unique features that we would never have designed ourselves, She designed and then project managed the interior design for us. She also worked around two busy people - no mean feat! I would recommend her for any project, no matter how big or small.

We are delighted with the way Georgina transformed our town house, both from a design and a project management point of view. The first time we met we were impressed that Georgina was much more concerned with finding out what we wanted rather than talking about herself. We wanted an overall colour scheme for the whole house, and the scope included decorating and carpets/flooring/tiling throughout, a new bathroom, a new kitchen and some furniture and joinery. She then came up with her ideas for an overall concept and for some features in the main rooms, and we were delighted – they were very much in tune with what we wanted. At all stages she sought our agreement and let us choose between options she found for us. She then managed the project very effectively: getting quotes from contractors she trusted, letting us choose them, and then managing them. In fact we were able to move out for five of the eight weeks, making it easier for us and the workers, and Georgina oversaw the work. She kept us updated with item by item costs on an amazing spreadsheet. In the end it was done to a high standard and we are very pleased. Georgina was a joy to work with, with a good sense of humour.

Kommenterade: Wooden floorsThey were original boards but you can achieve the same effect by using unfinished boards and experimenting with stains and finishes to get the desired effect.
