Rolf Hoppe went the extra mile to ensure the client was satisfied. He found me on Houzz (part of his marketing process). After meeting and reviewing a project with Rolf, I recommended to my client that R J Hoppe build and install custom millwork for midtown Manhattan offices. Rolf quickly organized and offered to deliver the job in an extremely tight time frame (R J Hoppe's proximity to NYC is a big plus). Most importantly, Rolf went beyond the call of duty by efficiently accepting extra client requests toward the end of the job, including the installation of base boards that were outside his scope of work. Rolf at RJ Hoppe was very thorough, asked pertinent questions and his work was great! we needed to and will need to replace some difficult to find cherry colored kitchen cabinet doors. We gave him a sample to match and they turned out great. RJ Hoppe definitely knows what they are doing!

My wife and I are so pleased we chose R.J Hoppe to build our custom built-in wall. We researched custom woodworkers in the NJ and NY area for quite some time and received multiple bids before we chose R J Hoppe. We really had a good feeling when we met Rolf (the owner) for the first time. He was by far the most prepared woodworker that we met with, meaning he came into our space with ideas in hand after only discussing the project verbally with us over the phone. He listens to what you want, makes suggestions, and helps guide you through the decisions that are needed. His patience throughout the entire process is remarkable, and truly made the entire experience of designing the work much less stressful. Our custom wall of cabinets and shelves, included a stone fireplace section in the middle that Rolf helped design and provide recommendations. From the perfect mantle height, to the right width for the recessed TV space, we went with almost all of Rolf's suggestions. The dry bar he built, was also perfectly modeled around a wine refrigerator. Rolf was detailed enough to talk to the refrigerator manufacturer and learn the dimensions needed for the proper ventilation of the unit, this is just a small example of how he goes above and beyond what you'd expect. We also wanted a modern piece that brought in distressed “vintage looking” wood features and he found a way to do it. We have a mantle and cabinet tops that were made from reclaimed wood and they are the aspects of the built-ins that people keep talking about. The finished product is 10 times better than you can imagine. My wife and I sit and look at the work and are amazed at how good it is…….it is simply stunning. Rolf has the imaginary skills for custom woodworking and his craftsmanship is simply amazing.

I recently had a bathroom medicine cabinet made by RJ Hoppe and cannot express fully the excellent workmanship this company provides with the utmost courtesy. This project required that it be exactly the exact size of my old cabinet. The new cabinet had top quality materials used, beautiful mirrors and exactly mirrored the size of the old cabinet!! This gentleman, Rolf Hoppe, is the finest craftsman that it has ever been my pleasure to meet. I am the president of a manufacturing company in the East and decided my office needed to be updated. It was very important to me that the new desk and credenza be unique, and hand made right here in United States. I interviewed numerous other craftsman before I decided to give this rather large job to Mr. Hoppe. He designed the desk based on a picture I gave him and discussing my expectations with me. He promised to build the desk to achieve the objectives that I outlined.......and did he ever. He brought the desk to my office and hand carried each piece to the second floor of the office building. He assembled this very large desk and credenza and it is breathtakingly beautiful. I liked Rolf from our first conversation. He was so knowledgeable about his craft and could articulate with ease each step of the process. He talked to me about the use of veneers as compared to solid woods and he talked about the finish on the wood. He made suggestions that made the desk more ergonomically appealing. He had the right equipment in his shop to get the job done. Finally,he gave me frequent updates and on every occasion that I spoke to him he left me know that it was my desk and that he wanted me to be happy with the outcome. I hired R J Hoppe, Inc. to customize cabinetry for a recent residential bathroom renovation. I worked directly with Rolf Hoppe, Jr., who I found to be very responsive and easy to work with. He is extremely knowledgeable about cabinetry, different wood species and their unique qualities and attributes and other material options. He was open to suggestions and discussed those options with us, helping us through the decision-making process. He was very interesting to talk with and learn from. I would describe him as a true craftsman in the "art of woodworking". You can tell he loves his work. Refreshing, compared to other contractors we've used in the past. I hired R J Hoppe Inc to install wainscoting in my dining room. I worked directly with the owner, Rolf Hoppe, to determine what style would work best for this room. Working with owner is so much better than an employee is since they have a vested interest in everything going well. Rolf took care of everything from measurements to installation. My house is over 65 years old, so the corners and doorways are not exactly square, but Rolf was able to get the wainscoting in flawlessly. During the installation, Rolf and his crew were prompt and professional and got the job done quickly at a high level of quality. The final cost was well within his estimate (no surprise overcharges or fees). I would use R J Hoppe on my next project and highly recommend them to others looking for remodeling contractors.

R.J. Hoppe has done 3 closet remodels for us. The work involved installing shelving, drawers and encasement of vent shafts. In all cases, the work was impeccable.
