Both my wife and I had the pleasure of working with Scott Phelps & Haven Development throughout our entire remodel process and could not be happier with the outcome. Scott was hands on through the budget phase providing valuable cost saving input as well as concrete numbers that we could count on. We were also able to finish ahead of schedule despite the various weather that we encountered at critical stages. The level of attention to detail that Scott and his team had when it came to our house was both refreshing and reassuring. The pride of workmanship that Scott has is unmatched and he provides the level of care as if it were his own home. I cannot recommend Scott and his team enough. Both Scott and his team were a pleasure to work with throughout our entire remodel process. They have taken the stresses of a remodel and turned them into an enjoyable process that we will always look back fondly on.

We were introduced to Scott through another family who’s working with him. We had an entire renovation of our garage, driveway and entire front walkway. I worked with Scott Phelps and Haven Development on complete tear down/rebuild of my property from an old beach cottage to a brand new 2,700 square foot house. We renovated our home, which included significant structural (roof and removal of walls), and were lucky to work with Scott. His professionalism and attention to detail saved us time and money in the long run and we could not be happier with the end result. We wish we had utilized him for our exterior project we did a few years back! All in all, a great end result, especially given the supply (materials) constraints of the current market.

We live in another state and were required to make substantial renovations to our home in Newport . We were given Scotts name and met him on site. He reviewed the job, and helped us understand what had to be done to complete the job. Scott and Haven took charge of job on site and worked through the design, permit and construction phases. Just as we began Covid hit. In the face of a potential "shut down", Haven worked with the sub contractors and the city and established a process that allowed work to proceed. As importantly it was done in a with no increase in budget. The final results of the effort were everything we hoped, The quality of the workmanship was superior in all regards. Perhaps the greatest test was that when the work had been completed, Scott followed up on any missing details quickly and conscientiously. Haven Development Group is the only residential contractor I would recommend. Scott was without question the "best guy on the job" from start to finish. My project was very complex, as we faced the challenge of completely renovating a 1965 home. Scott had many cost effective solutions throughout the project. Scott Phelps, owner of Haven Development is a conscientious, detail oriented General Contractor. He did an excellent job building our new home on the Newport Beach Peninsula. We converted a 1940's duplex to a contemporary home with separate apartment while maintaining our R-2 zoning. Our home was a challenging build because of the 10% restrictions on adding additional living space in Newport Beach. We utilized an indoor-outdoor design which incorporated considerable amounts of glass and steel beam engineering. Scott worked diligently with our engineers and the City of Newport Beach to overcome various challenges to complete the project successfully. We highly recommend Scott Phelps as a General Contractor.

Scott completed our remodel/addition on time and on budget. But after living through the construction I realized that while all that was great, the more important things were his excellent communication, his strict standards for his subs, and that he truly wanted to provide a great project for us. We lived in our house during the work, and he worked hard to make that as painless and fast as possible. There was never a question he didn't answer, or a problem he couldn't solve. His professional manner and calm attitude were also a bonus during the whole process. I have, and will continue, to recommend him wholeheartedly as an excellent contractor.

Scott and his group of contractors were great. We remodeled our house and backyard. The final product is just as we envisioned. Scott has come back to make tweaks until we are happy. His original budget/proposal seemed high since I am used to getting a budget and it just goes up from there. That was not the case. Haven Development came in under budget and on time. Haven Development (Scott) is by far the most organized and efficient contractor that I've met. It's certainly hard to find a GC that is on time and delivers when they say they are going to. Scott does an excellent job of managing expectations through out.

We have worked with Scott at Haven Development on two house renovations in the last 12 months. One was a like-for-like high-end restoration (after a fire), and he did an impeccable job. Haven Development did a complete remodel and renovation of our home, built in 1971, down to the foundation. The project started in February, 2015, and was completed in September, 2015 - right on the schedule that Scott (the owner) had given us. This was a huge project. It included, among other things, replacing all plumbing and electrical, the roof, HVAC, insulation, installing radiant flooring, removing interior walls, and installing steel posts and beams to achieve a contemporary open concept. The entire style of the house changed from your typical 1970's California house (with a sunken living room and closed off kitchen and dining room) to a contemporary interpretation of mid-century modern. Scott is extremely knowledgeable, worked very well with our architect and engineers, hired excellent subcontractors, stayed in charge of the entire project, and delivered an unbelievably wonderful result. He made sure we were pleased with everything, every step of the way. We have had other construction on our home before, and Scott is the only contractor we would recommend to anyone.

Scott and The Haven Dev Group came highly recommended by a colleague. I hired them to renovate my chiropractic office in downtown Fullerton. After coming out to my space to take some measurements and to see my space, Scott gave me an estimate on how long it would take, and how much it would cost to renovate my space to my specifications. To my surprise, he stayed 100% on budget, and finished what he had promised, on time. He also stayed in tough and gave me progress reports along the way.
