Helyer Davies Architects is an award winning architectural practice offering a wide range of services, from design concept through to project completion. We specialise in residential projects ranging from contemporary installations and new build houses to historic restorations. Working closely with clients from inception to completion, in order to deliver outstanding results that are succinctly tailored to their needs. Every project is unique and we are committed to creating bespoke solutions that respond creatively to each project’s specific requirements. When working on a project we believe that good architecture is only created through a close dialogue between client and architect. Our design process is methodical but instinctive, based on architectural and technology driven ideas. We work hard to ensure our projects are consistently delivered on time and on budget. We also pride ourselves on our excellent client relationships, this is illustrated by our high percentage of repeat clients.

We have worked with Helyer Davies over the last six years on the design, planning permissions and build of a complex project, involving the rebuilding and repurposing of a derelict Georgian stable yard, within the curtilage of a listed building, in the middle of a conservation area, with very tricky access and surrounded on all sides by other heritage properties. We worked with Martin Helyer and his team to design a new building that was in keeping with the original stables' footplate, roof line, use of heritage materials and utilitarian aesthetic but which is thoroughly contemporary in nature - even to the extent of being solar powered. There were times when the various complexities of the job made us wonder if we would ever make the new building happen but Martin Helyer has been a constant support and patient partner in the process, ensuring that we ended up with a building that we love.

Belgrave Construction have worked along side Helyer Davies Architects on a number of projects for the last few years. We find Tom and his team extremely knowledgeable, providing detailed drawings and more importantly, solutions to issues that can arise. Pre start and any issues are dealt with promptly, and we have worked with most of the team now. We have built up a portfolio of many medium to high end projects with HD that can be viewed in Emsworth and surrounding areas to show the design and attention to detail. As a contractor we have no problem recommending HD and if you need to contact us, Belgrave will reference along side pictures of the projects start to completion.

We appointed Helyer Davies as architect to design and project manage the build of a single storey side and rear extension. Helyer Davies (Sam Hunt) managed on our behalf the planning application process, the building control aspect, the appointment of a structural engineer and short listed a number of local builders from which we made the final selection. Helyer Davies then oversaw the project through to its' conclusion. Throughout the project Helyer Davies gave sound advice and resolved problems as they occurred, They were both efficient and professional.

We had previously constructed a house for one of Helyer Davis Clients, prior too engaging directly with them as a practice. Tom and the team have been a pleasure to work with, all very professional and work to understand each individual clients needs. Their projects range vastly, from modern new builds to prestigious listed building refurbishments. Each project is designed and detailed to an exceptionally high standard and the unique design is truly captivated upon. We look forward to working with them in the future. I have had the pleasure of working with Helyer Davies Architects as a Photographer on a number of projects recently. On every project, the team has been incredibly professional and friendly and I always enjoy my photoshoots with them! Working with Helyer Davies has enabled me to photograph some stunning architecture and I wouldn't hesitate to use them as a client myself.
