We have built four homes over the past 30 years and have the found the process with The Home Company this past year the best. The quality selections, complete transparency on the final price, and an onsite project manager to make sure all the details are done right have made this a very smooth process. Highly recommend them.

Kristina from the Home Company has been simply amazing throughout the entire process of building our home. The whole group has been great, but we work with Kristina the most. She is always upfront honest & helpful. Building a home can be very stressful, but the Home Company has made this a pretty smooth process. So far our experience has been great. We would like to thank the Home Company for helping us build our dream home in Newport Hill. From the lot selection to customization of features, the communication, personal attention and consideration for answering questions and helping us understand all the nuances of the process was excellent. This is the 6th home I have owned, but our first new construction build. As a member of the commercial construction community, I considered being my own general contractor, thinking I might save money. I cannot iterate how happy I am that I did not take that on. Knowing all the permitting/zoning/utility requirements, phasing the work, scheduling contractors, and dealing with weather and the busy building season workload would have made the task a daunting one. Since they work with their contractors on many jobs, their leverage over contractor’s schedule and quality of work added value that far exceeded any saving I might have realized. We are currently building with The Home Company. Throughout every phase they have been wonderful. Dave (President) and Kristina (Realtor) sat down with us, helped find the lot that would fit the plan we wanted and explained everything to us. I loved that we could customize everything. Their Interior Designer, Raquel was top notch! She was very flexible, gave us ideas and helped relieve the stress of making selections-just awesome. Last week we had the electrical walk through and we were so impressed by this team! Joe (Electrician) and Jeff (PM) took the time, suggested items and didn't make us feel rushed but cared about the choices we made. Nick (Vice President) told us if we had any questions throughout the process to feel free to contact them. I love this!! This experience has been very personalized. This is our fourth house, but this has been so much easier than building any of the others because of the professionalism and knowledge of The Home Company. This has truly been such a good experience and we look forward to moving into our new beautiful home soon!

On Oct. 9th we entered into a contract with The Home Company to build us what we hoped was our forever home. We spent months finalizing our floor plan and picking out finishes. We were getting excited, especially when the house started to take shape. So, imagine our surprise when on Friday, April 29th my husband received a phone call informing us that The Home Company was going to terminate our contract. In my opinion we did have our ups and downs building, but I felt it was nothing that couldn’t be resolved. I also felt like most of the issues were things we had been upfront about months before, but weren’t done how we had requested. That weekend was very hard on us knowing we were going to have to start over finding a new home and would have to figure out temporary living since we had already sold our house. It was even worse when we had to tell our kids that the home we had been working on and drove by every day was no longer ours. This is not the first house we have built, but it will be the last for a long time. We are blessed that a used home came on the market recently that we loved and are now looking forward to closing in July.

The Home Company terminated our home contract after months of design and building because we were "unreasonable". I guess when you have emails to back up those "unreasonable" items to be fixed, The Home Company, finds the easiest way out by just canceling a contract instead of fixing those items. A lesson I learned was that even though they are a "best of” company, they were not the best choice for me. This entire review is based on my opinion and what happened to me.

Building with The Home Company has been a great experience. Everything ran so smooth, and they were in constant communication with me every single week. We loved the process, and the people at The Home Company were always so nice and pleasant. We heard from friends that building a home was the worst experience they have gone through, but with The Home Company we thought it was one of the best experience we have done as a couple. It was just fun picking everything out and watching our home being built. I would recommend The Home Company to anyone looking to build a new home.
