My husband and I first met Mary Jane in 2003 when we decided to renovate our bedroom and bath. We loved her creativity and innovative ideas. We are taller people so the heights of the counters and cabinets were adjusted to better serve us. Two years later, we decided to renovate our kitchen, dining, and living areas. The details were catered again to our perfection. The projects were completed in an acceptable time frame. Since then, I have contacted her to refresh those areas as well as paint the outside of the house; plus, she designed shutters for the outside. My house is absolutely stunning because of her talents. I feel my house reflects me now. Therefore, I recommend Mary Jane Miller. Also, I love the name of her business: Along Came Mary.

We recently remodeled and refurbished my optometric office. Mary Jane Miller has provided design services for my business for well over 20 years and I didn't consider anyone else for this complete update. She is the ultimate professional and uses her talents and experience to make the process go smoothly as well as beautifully. Many of my patients comment about the "new" office. Mary Jane guided me in the selection of: wall colors and paint type, wallpaper, fabric for recovering seating, carpet and hard flooring, replacement of art work and wall coverings and many other accessories. She has access to professional craftsmen to install the items that she purchases.

Over the course of almost two decades, Mary Jane Miller has designed and/or specified window treatments, upholstery, and accessories for my home. I am an architect with specific ideas about how I want my home to look. Mary Jane has always been brilliant at "interpreting" my personality and tastes. She combines creativity with practicality. Like a great chef, a couturière, a maker of fine furniture, or an architect, Mary Jane knows that simply imagining a beautiful finished product is not enough. An understanding of materials and construction methods is essential to the creative process, too.

Ms. Miller completely decorated our very large den as well as other areas of the house. The lambrequim on the Windows is unique and beautiful. Sofas, chairs, tables, lamps etc., all blended well with items I already had. My request was that the room should be attractive, but also a warm place where my grandchildren could play, and I could also entertain there. She gave professional advice but also listened to my ideas and incorporated them. Ms Miller has helped me many times over the years with different rooms and projects. And I have been very pleased and satisfied with her work.

I built a new home in Virginia and Along Came Mary helped me so much in putting together the look I wanted for my home, from the colors on the walls to the window treatments and the new upholstery for my furniture. These tasks are often arduous, even unpleasant, for people like us, but Mary Jane Miller made it easy. This ease flowed from detailed explanation and timely completion within our budget...and, now, we realize, by actually making it fun...and that is no small achievement. Clearly, we are very satisfied clients, and the praise may seem a bit overdone, but in truth our appreciation is probably understated.

Mary Jane worked with my husband and me over several years to update various rooms in our home.
