Starting from scratch, Kate was fantastic in turning the bare bones into well finished rooms. There was only a short timeframe, as I was moving into a new place and bringing no furniture with me. Kate worked fast to design each of the apartment spaces and find the right decor. Kate was fantastic to work with and I’d highly recommend her for anyone moving or simply looking to upgrade their current home.

Having recently purchased a new apartment, I decided to completely update the interior since the furnishings I already owned did not suit the new space. Not wanting to make the same mistakes I'd made in the past, I chose to engage Kate's services based on the strength of her online profile and portfolio. Kate was outstanding. She was quickly able to articulate the design direction I envisioned, and from there, adroitly managed the process of selecting and sourcing items. She presented me with numerous options along the way, but also used her keen eye for design to influence the final result in positive ways that I never would have imagined myself. From the initial consultation through to the final styling, Kate was professional and diligent, yet at the same time, easy-going and engaging. Kate's design savvy and talent transformed my apartment into the sophisticated home that exceeded my initial expectations. She skilfully took me through a process to understand what sort of look I was after, present me with well-chosen and on-budget lighting, design, and furniture options, and manage the transformation process. She was responsive to my initial ideas but also smartly me pushed out of my comfort zone with a positive outcome. Her contacts in the art world also helped me find a painting of my dreams. Kate at DMC oversaw the design, product sourcing and project management for the renovation of my apartment in May 2016. I interviewed a number of interior designers at the time and ultimately went with Kate as I felt she most understood the look and finish I wanted. The brief was to oversee a complete refit of lighting, furnishings, flooring etc. The renovation was transformational and has made an amazing impact. I found Kate very detailed oriented and well organised and she has high standards for finishings which is essential when it comes to the project management piece. I employed the services of Designer Man Cave to completely renovate my 2 storey town house in Surry Hills. I was looking to make a space for myself that was sophisticated and elegant with a masculine edge. Kate was exceptional. She took a blank canvas, created a vision with me and executed that vision perfectly. She was extremely helpful, proactive, competent and professional. I had originally found an interior decorator in my home state but she was not able to accommodate my request for assistance on a weekend (as I work full time). I therefore began researching e-decorators and found this was perfect for me - it was affordable, I had a larger range of decorators to choose from and with guidance, could complete the job myself in my own time and gradually. I actually stumbled across Kate's website by pure accident and thoroughly reviewed her website before I determined she was the right person who could help me. I contacted Kate and promptly received a reply. Although she was interstate, I had confidence she could translate my vision without the need for her physical presence. I explained that I had no 'filter' and was incredibly indecisive and my living room had no essence of my husband in it. I emailed through photos and completed her online questionnaire. I was so surprised when I saw the concept plan that Kate drew up - it would suit my husband and I to a tee and meshed our ideas beautifully. Kate's concept was very visual and gave me inspiration straight away. Not only were suppliers listed but the benefit of having it emailed was that I could access the plan on my iPad whilst out shopping for products and act as a reminder to steer me in the right direction! Whilst I haven't begun the process of implementing the changes, I've been planning, sourcing suppliers and products. I can complete the process at my own pace and as I can afford it. Without hesitation, I would recommend Kate Abdou as your online interior e-decorator!
