was looking for some nice doors to furnish my new apartment and this place did a very quick professional job

What a horrible experience. It took 8 months for our windows to arrive. When we called to find out when our windows would be installed we were told excuses after excuses. That was not the worst part of dealing with this company. The installation of the windows when they finally arrived looked like they were done by amateurs. The shims were sticking out of the front of our house and they did not even cap the windows. We had to pay someone else to do that. They didn’t even measure the windows correctly. They had to add wood at bottom of some of the windows. The window screens were not even put in. They said they would come back to put it in at later date. They left all the old windows and debris at the side of my house. My husband had to get rid of the old windows and debris. We would never recommend this company to anyone. The saying is not always true, “You get what you pay for.” We paid a lot and definitely did not get what we paid for.

I can’t recommend this place enough! Best customer service! The staff is professional and friendly. The installer did an amazing job! My husband and I love our doors! Top quality and best prices.

I had very negative experience with Door Expo on Coney Island ave and ave T in Brooklyn, especially dealing with store owner Yriy . I bought 2 doors and made a second mistake ( first was going there ) by paying cash . When I unwrapped the packages the doors were wrapped in , I noticed that both doors were damaged in different places . It was not a major damage but still unacceptable for me considering I paid $900 for both doors . I called the store and informed them about this damage and was told I need to speak with Yuri who did not return my call on that day. I came to the store on the following day and sales associate called him for me. The store owner Yury said he needs to come to my house to see those doors. After he saw them he called me to tell me that I was the one who damaged the doors and he is not responsible for them once they leave his store . The damage was covered under wrappers and I did not remove wrapping in the store for the purpose of transporting these doors . I only noticed them after I brought these doors home and unpacked them . I asked him to exchange the doors for same undamaged ones or refund me the money ( unfortunately I paid cash). He suggested to install these damaged doors and touch them up once they installed. I thought it was ridiculous considering I paid $450 each doors . It was very difficult to communicate with him as he speaks over you on high tones of voice and gets personal. I will avoid dealing with this business at all cost as there are many alternatives and we leave in America in 21 century where customer satisfaction is considered a number one priority. The only smooth thing with this project was ordering the door at Coney Island Ave location. Natasha was very pleasant and helpful at the moment of purchase and very apologetic later on as promised things were not working out as planned. Original time frame for delivery of the door was 8 weeks, which (of course) turned to 17 or 18 weeks. First, it was that somehow my door was not on the ship. Second, the door WAS on the ship, but ship got stuck somewhere. Third, the ship actually made it to US but there were problems with merchandise passing the customs. I ordered the door in August, but by the time it got to Brooklyn it was January. Now, it was too cold for installation and we had to wait till the temperature went up a little. Anyways, when the final moment came and the door made it to my house, we realized that digital European lock that I ordered and paid $500 for, was not there. Neither was the factory pre-made opening for that lock. Granted, they gave me back the money I paid for the lock, but now I had to go Home Depot and buy the digital lock that I wanted to be installed. The US made locks are NOT suited to be installed on European made doors because of the thickness of the door! We ran into another issue! The installer, Sergey, tried to do his best to modify the lock and make it work. It worked for a whole month and then gave up on me because it kept getting stuck somewhere inside. Had to buy another lock and get other professionals come to install it! Another issue which I'm still dealing with is that the door I bought is a double door. There is a space on the bottom where 2 doors meet. I have called to tell them that I feel the cold and wind from outside coming inside the house. I was promised that installer will come back to fix it. He came back to the house (after few more phone calls to the store) and told me that it's common problem with these doors and he has to think about what he can do to fix it. First question that arises from that is: why the hell wouldn't you tell me that there is a problem when I was making a purchase?! Second, if you knew the problem exists, why haven't you thought of a solution to fix it before you sell the door?! Third, we are almost a year post installation, how long does it take to actually THINK??? As a final thought, I would NEVER recommend this place not only to my friends and family, but even to strangers! Sorry guys. I don't usually give reviews at all, but experience had and STILL HAS me very frustrated! I could have expected something like this from a cheap store, but not for the money I have paid!

An absolutely worst experience!!!! Stay away from this store!! people have no clue what they are doing, they lie and act unprofessional , to say the list!!!

Stay away. - Saw them at architectural digest design show in NY in 2015 - Ordered interior doors and one patio door at the end of April. Promised delivery and installation within 8 weeks. Interior doors delivered after 13 weeks and not those I ordered. Implied I didn't know what I had ordered. Agreed to take back one door. Did not finish to install doors (for which I paid in full). Agreed to come and finish. Never happened. - Patio door arrived after 15 weeks. Not the door I ordered and I did not accept delivery. Again tried to convince me this is the door I ordered. Note that not only it wasn't the model I ordered but it wasn't even conforming to my opening requirements (and they came to measure everything!). They agreed to take it back and refund deposit. Never happened. - Unprofessional, deceiving and disrespectful.

Wanted a door for a high end apartment or custom home . These doors are beautiful and very well built. The "The Door Expo" doors is absolutely beautiful and the hardware is as well. We would highly recommend "The Door Expo" as a source for high quality and very distinctive architectural doors.
