Lönnqvist & Vanamo Architects is a Stockholm-based, international architectural practice run by Max Lönnqvist and Pilvi Vanamo. Both partners have extensive international experience from architectural offices and universities in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Spain, Japan and China. Their different backgrounds and experiences generate a creative process with unexpected solutions. The studio works with various fields and scales of architecture, from private residences to international collaboration projects and from concept sketches to detailed production drawings.
Max Lönnqvist Architect SAR MSA
Max Lönnqvist studied architecture at Lund Technical University, Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London, Aarhus School of Architecture in Denmark, Aalto University in Helsinki and Tokyo University. He has built an extensive international network during his years in prominent architectural offices in Beijing, Helsinki and Tokyo. Alongside practice he works at Stockholm-based office Tengbom.
Pilvi Vanamo Architect SAR MSA / SAFA
Pilvi Vanamo studied architecture at Aalto University in Helsinki, ETSAB Barcelona and KTH in Stockholm. She has worked at several well-known offices in Helsinki, Barcelona and Stockholm. With a strong interest in cross-cultural collaboration and socially engaged architecture, she has a wide experience in design and project management in an international context. Together with Inari Virkkala from Komitu Architects, she is also the founder of South of North, a Nordic network of architects working with global issues related to ecological and social sustainability.
