Absolutely pathetic excuse for a construction company. We hired them for a outdoor deck project and the sheer incompetence of Don and his team was shocking. 8 months behind the schedule for a deck. And these people allegedly build homes??

I highly recommend Main Street Custom Homes to anyone who needs a home project -- big or small -- to be done. They have worked with me on two fairly major reno projects over the years and I was very happy with the results of both projects. They are willing to work with the client to achieve your reno vision and provide expert professional workers to make that vision a reality. I would certainly use them for future projects.

Our church, the First Presbyterian Church of Succasunna, hired Main Street Custom Homes & Remodeling (MSCH) to manage our steeple restoration project. MSCH donated their services for this project, to which we, as a small church with limited resources, are very grateful. Ours was a complex project with many unknowns, as the wooden steeple is approx 120' high, built in the 1800's, hasn't been touched in quite some time, with no easy access (we rented a lift for the subs to access and do the work). We utilized some unique and creative approaches throughout the project, from assessing the work to be done with a drone, to recreating historically accurate replacement parts, to resolving challenges on the job site. Upon gaining access to the steeple with the lift (to reach 120 feet high), Dan and the carpenters confirmed the level of decay and developed a fair balance between preserving historical elements and remediating the decaying wooden structure. Dan was on site everyday, always smiling and willing to explain what's happening, and ready to resolve any issues the subs uncovered. The subs were very professional and friendly as well. Dan and Don managed the project in a very professional manner, between our church, the subcontractors and suppliers, and finished the project within our budget and on time. With the lighting they also installed, our newly restored and repainted steeple is once again a shining icon in our town, visible to all in our community, and will stand tall for many years to come. As the steeple restoration committee chair, I had frequent interactions with Dan, Don, and the rest of the team from MSCH from planning through completion. We highly recommend MSCH, and will consider hiring them for our future projects.

Don and his team were incredible in helping us to get our home back to "better than normal" after we had an unfortunate event that caused significant damage. Don ensured the project was properly scoped, contractors showed up on time and were experts in their respective fields. The quality of work and the precision that was demonstrated were simply unparalleled. We felt like we had white glove service for the entire project, and as a result felt confident in Don's work.

Their cost estimate was great. They did a fantastic job stabilizing, cleaning and water proofing the walls of a 2 car garage at my parents house. The job was completed by the date they gave us. No garbage was left behind. They also helped us contact one of their customers so we could arrange the sale and pick up of a large pile of 4" x 4" belgium blocks that we unfortunately never used. After 19 years of living in my home it was time to refinish my hardwood floors. Don and his crew did a wonderful job of making my hardwood floors look brand new. Don came to my house and put sample colors on my existing wood to compare the old look with the new. We found the perfect stain to compliment my décor. It also seems that the dustless method is pretty close to dust free. I am very happy with my refinished hardwood floors. I would highly recommend Main Street Custom Homes for hardwood floor refinishing or any other home improvement project!
