Founded by Matthew H. Kragh who has other offices in Naples and Palm Beach, MHK Carolinas is led by principal Mitch Lehde. Beyond the contemporary low country coastal specialty that MHK Architecture & Planning is famous for, we specialize in mountain architectural vernacular, which consists of bold natural material palettes that blend seamlessly into the serene mountains of the Western Carolinas.

Mitch Lehde was the architect we chose to build our "dream" retirement home in South Carolina. Having built 7 houses previously, I can say unequivocally that Mitch was the best architect we ever worked with. His ability to understand our vision and transform it into reality made the building process the best we have ever experienced. And the detail and execution he brought to the process was unparalleled. Perhaps as important, he is an individual of exceptional character, integrity and honesty. We built this home "long distance" and we knew Mitch was representing our best interests. My highest recommendation to Mitch and the firm.

Mitch Lehde of MHK Architecture provided me with professional assistance in modifying a plan for my home that needed substantial revision to suit my needs. He not only incorporated all of my "wish list" hopes and dreams to make my home perfect for me, but also made design suggestions that complimented the style of the home and my personal taste. He is a perfectionist in every minute detail and I could not be more pleased with his design plans and the result he created. He also went above and beyond in helping me resolve some construction issues, long after he had created the architectural plans for me. He is a pleasure to work with, patient, kind, understanding, and unbelievably intuitive. I would highly, highly recommend him!!

My company, Galt Innovations, has worked with Mitch for several years now. We are extremely lucky to have such a talented individual to call on for our architecture and planning work. Mitch and his staff are attentive, pay attention to detail, creative, and fun to work with. As a builder, having good plans makes all the difference. I admire their work so much, that I had them design my personal home. I cannot recommend Mitch and his team highly enough.
