Mike and Kim were a pleasure to work with. Mike kept us updated with the work progress. We had some design changes done midstream without extra fee’s for changes. The weather was a challenge throughout the build and he done a good job of overcoming those setbacks. The build was great throughout, costs effective, and we ended up with a outstanding home. Kim was very helpful on colors and designs.

Mike Blake was recommended to me by a quality homebuilder who no longer built in my desired location. Mike proved to be a great choice. This was not my first experience with a custom homebuilder but it was my best. I have had many compliments on the quality of construction. One example is a framing issue that seemed ok to me but not to Mike. He had the section torn out and rebuilt correctly. It was fun to see my vision become reality. And wife Kim was a great help on colors. David and Wilmur were invaluable in coordination and finishing touches. Jim

For more than 20 years we had been making plans for our dream home, and Mike Blake Homes made them come to life better than we had imagined. We wanted our home to have a particular feel, and they took the time to get to know our aesthetic. We wanted our home to meet our needs today and as we aged in place, and they took the time to understand how we wanted the house to work for us. This was our first time building a house, and the superintendent always kept us in the loop on the progress. We were very impressed with his sharp eye for all the construction details that ensured we have a quality built custom home that not only met our standards, but the high standards they promised us. My wife and I found Mike and Kim by chance but after our first meeting with them we knew we were making the right choice. We already had architectural plans completed but Mike helped us make some small changes that not only made the house more cost effective but more beautiful as well. Our project manager, David, was also a great resource and was easy to communicate with. No building process is without its frustrations and delays but Mike, Kim, and David were always available to troubleshoot whatever issue arose. In the end, we could not be happier with our new home.

Mike and Kim Blake built our house about a year and a half ago on Lake Tyler East and did an excellent job. We had a couple hiccups that slowed us down but that was out of their control (mostly Mother Nature). We love our house so much and are incredibly fortunate to have a place to call home! I would not recommend this builder. Non responsive customer service. Lack of attention to detail. Contractors would have completed project in a more timely manner and quality of work may have been better had been supervised.

This customer asked me to build them a home 2 hours from our base of operation because they did not believe there was a good builder in their area. That should of been my first tip that something was wrong. As a banking executive in their area they would have access to lots of custom home builders. I should of realized that maybe all the builders were not bad but rather they might be a problem as a customer. In hindsight I should of not built a home for these folks. This is not the forum to detail our experience as the builder but I completely disagree with their assessment of our performance. We still maintain a 92% referral rate from our past customers. In addition we have received many awards for our work as a homebuilder.

Mike and Kim were great to work with, they built us a custom house. We were very detailed in what we wanted right down to the brand and grade of paint we wanted. Mike made double sure we would not have problems with the foundation of the house which seems to be a problem in this area. We later added a detached garage which we also had them build. We would recommend.

Mike and Kim Blake have done an excellent job in helping us navigate thru the process of building a new custom home. This is the third custom home we have built and the Blakes have by far been the easiest builder to work with. They offer good suggestions for improving our design and interior choices, while also trying to accomodate our small quirks. The quality of the house has exceded our expectations. We would recommend Mike Blake Custom Homes to anyone.

We found Mike Blake to be very knowledgeable in his craft. Worked well with in our budget. Explained why he felt in the long run other materials would be better and more cost effective. We are a retiring couple and don't need future unexpected bills. We would rather pay now when we can afford it, than later. He was approachable when ever we had questions or changes had to be made. He addressed our concerns with respect, patience, and understanding. This was our first home to be built from scratch, so you can imagine the what he had to go through! Mike Blake provided architectural design for our custom home. All he had to go by was a picture of our dream home and a floor plan. His contractors for the stone and cabinets were amazing. Mikes attention to detail on the framing and building of our home made us feel comfortable that he was on top of the project. Mike made our dream home come true!

Mike Blake Custom Homes was highly recommended by my architect. When it came to building our dream home, my wife and I were very picky. I had heard horror stories from others that had built custom homes that "you and your builder will hate each other by the time your house is finished". After hearing that, I was concerned that I would have to compromise a lot on my thoughts and ideas for the house and on the overall quality that I would likely be demanding. Turns out there was no reason to feel that way. Quality was never an issue. I thought I would have to be present nearly every day to oversee things to be sure they were done right but I soon realized that was not necessary. They had things well under control without me and it was a big relief knowing that things would be done right. I can honestly say that my wife and I have actually become closer and better friends with Mike and Kim than we were before we built. In fact, we have been out to dinner with them several times since our home was completed. They were both very helpful all along the way during construction and were more like partners in the process rather than builders. Picking out colors, styles, etc. seemed like a daunting task but Kim was right with us holding our hand every step of the way. Early after moving in, there were a few minor issues that needed attention and Mike was very prompt about coming out to fix/repair when I notified him. We have had no major warranty issues at all since moving in. Overall, we have no regrets and would not think twice about using Mike and Kim again as our builders. You will be very pleased with their professionalism and the quality of the finished product. They will stand behind everything they do!
