Mugnaini

The Mugnaini ovens are nice enough but unfortunately the company doesn’t stand behind their products at all. I received my oven with a broken floor and mortar that was a year past its expiration and so was dried up and unusable. They tried to upsell me on new mortar that I already had paid for. Finally had to buy it from another supplier. Told me the broken floor was fine and no offer to replace the broken section. It all honesty. It probably is fine, but that’s not the point. A company should offer to replace defective parts on a brand new oven. Stay away from this company. Too bad

The client had installed a Mugniani Pizza oven at a previous residence, so I was fairly confident that it would be a good fit for this project. Not only did they do a great job, it came in under budget and looks and works great!

We love this wood fired oven. It has been the center of entertainment and great meals. We bought the largest residential size (Prima 120) and have in many dinners used all of the interior cooking area. The customer service has been excellent and prompt in answering of our questions.

Ignite your passion! That statement pretty much sums up what it is like to own a wood fire oven. Honesty, from the moment we met Andrea Mugnaini, I knew we would develop a life long relationship. She runs her business with such passion. I had no idea what we were getting ourselves into when we decided to build our own oven. I thought just a few pizzas on a Saturday night! Well that is how it all started. We have attended many cooking classes in both California and Tuscany, and each time we come home with a new technique or recipe. I love that on the website there are videos that demonstrate how to get the most from our oven. Everything is so simple and so easy because Mugnaini are the experts. Even in our Canadian winters we use our oven year round. We really built our oven out of necessity.....life is more balanced as we learn to slow down and savour each masterpiece we create.

I've been familiar with Mugnaini since the early days of their company. I think they singlehandedly brought the "art" of wood fired cooking to the masses. Through oven installations in restaurants for those early adopters, most notably Alice Waters, (many chef's have since followed), they fueled an interest which eventually dovetailed with the food movement of locally sourced, organic ingredients beautifully prepared. Mugnaini's philosophy has always been to move away from fast convenience foods and bring entertaining and family back to the hub of the kitchen hearth. I think people were hungry for a healthier more rewarding culinary experince. Personally I longed for an oven for more than 10 years. When we did a major kitchen remodel I was able to retrofit the chimney of an existing wood fired heat stove for my oven installation. It's delightful to be able to cook with live flame indoors and have my family and guests participate in preparations. The true strength of Mugnaini is their continuing commitment to educating their customers with full scale cooking classes held both at their lovely wine country location in the heart of Sonoma County's Alexander Valley, and with fall classes held in Tuscany near the location of the Italian factory where the ovens originate. They do not simply sell an appliance and walk away, but they build relationships with all of the clients who purchase their wood fired ovens. If you are a foodie you will love the bounty of creative cuisine that will come from your oven. I've done my entire Thanksgiving dinner to include turkey, vegetables and even dessert from my wood fired oven. Pizza is always fun with a crowd, but when it's just the two of us a big slow cooked pot of Tuscan beans, braised chicken and roasted root vegetables are some of my favorite dishes. I've also experimented with other ethnic cuisine with fantastic results. Cooking is relatively easy to master and to help with that, Mugnaini has an illustrated and lusciously photographed instructional cookbook to guide you if you cannot get to one of the many classes offered throughout the year. If you are not a foodie, you will become one!

We just put in a custom Mugnaini wood fired oven off of our patio and love it. Mugnaini provided all of the oven components and accessories and we also attended their 3 day cooking class to learn all about using our new toy. The oven looks great and works like a charm. All of the components and accessories are of the highest quality. The class was entertaining and educational. We had a blast at and learned a lot too.

We purchased a Mugnaini wood fired oven for our newly remodeled kitchen. After attending a two day cooking class in California at the Mugnaini facility we decided to attend the week long class in Tuscany. Not only did we learn the art of wood fired cooking we had an amazing time. Everything Andrea Mugnaini does is of the utmost quality. She knows her products and believes in them passionately. Our oven has been the centerpiece of all of our parties, and family gatherings. We have made hundreds of pizzas and countless other dishes using our oven! We are even contemplating buying another oven for outside!

It wasn’t until I cooked using a Mugnaini oven that I realized how much less then magnificent my own wood burning oven was. Not to mention most of the others I have cooked in including a very expensive restaurant grade oven with gas back up. I’m fresh from a 3 day cooking class in Sonoma with Andrea where my very mature game was raised significantly. She had 8 different ovens, all working, all different styles including one in her incredibly beautiful kitchen. I mention the latter as I simply couldn’t believe the absence of any smoke migration or odor at all into her house. We fired our first oven and within 51 minutes we were up to temperature and cooking pizzas. And then pheasant, and zucchini, and roasted peppers, and tenderloin, breads, pies, well, you get the picture. In the first hour, Andrea changed fundamental beliefs I had about cooking in this beautiful appliance not the least of which is that, it was exactly that. An appliance. Andrea is a very accomplished and passionate chef and educator and in her presentation communicated that the oven was a simple appliance, easy to use and maintain and truly the most versatile tool in the kitchen – or deck, or back yard. And it is beautiful and very cool. All I have to do now is find someone who wants to steal my 2000 lb oven so I can get a Mugnaini!
