To Whom it May Concern, I am excited and pleased to write this letter of satisfaction for an amazing deck built by Smokey Mountain Deck Builders! I am new to Tennessee and badly needed a new deck/room/ceiling remodel as my existing project was a mess, AND incomplete. With a little research, Smokey Mountain Deck Builders was my choice by a recommendation from Home Depot. I must say to ALL the individuals, from the first phone call to the last cleanup, I am extremely satisfied with the kindness, professionalism, and precise work done by your group of amazing people. All my calls and texts were answered, and always with patience and respect. Nick, the owner is a refreshing breath of fresh air in an otherwise sketchy industry. His skills and kindness far exceed his years! It seems sometimes just getting someone out to LOOK is a mission! Nick and his team came out and really brainstormed with me to come up with ideas for the finished project. He and his team were very patient with me and after a short time, the plan and budget were agreed upon. Long story short, the existing, unfinished room now has a BEAUTIFUL new deck, Cedar rails, Amazing Barn Doors, “Industrial” Metal Ceiling, and a Trex Rain Escapes Waterproof deck system! The level of precision, the attention to detail, and the solid construction are impressive. Hats off to Nick and his crew for dealing with my constant “involvement.” They were ever patient and more than willing to please, and always with a smile. Smoky Mountain Deck Builders just completed my deck replacement. The project entailed changing from a traditional wooden deck to a TREX deck and as a new customer, I am thrilled with the result. A large part of my customer satisfaction can be attributed to the exceptional service of the entire company, and superior quality workmanship of the team, namely the worksite foreman Jason, and William and Jeremy. The project went well from the very first day of meeting company owner, drawing up the contract and plans, to the last day of final walk-through. The build execution was skillfully directed by Jason, and the construction conducted with precision and efficiency. They were always professional and respectful, patiently answered my questions, kept me informed of progress, and project completed on time.

Smoky Mountain Deck Builders did an amazing job with out backyard. The deck they built is top of the line but we also have fallen in love with the fire pit they installed. Our backyard is looks completely new. Night and day from where it was and we couldn’t be more pleased with the result. Smoky Mountain Deck Builders showed an attention to detail that made the finished product all the more perfect. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to add a deck to their property!

Nick, Randy and I would like to thank you, and everyone else at Smoky Mountain Deck builders who helped build our boat dock. After dealing with excuses from numerous contractors who failed to follow through or even show up it has been a pleasure to work with you and your team. You guys made COVID 2020 a lot less stressful for us! Everyone from the office staff to the sub-contractors who drilled our pilings always responded to our questions and concerns pronto and, with cheerful professionalism. Smoky Mountain is one of very few, and the only construction company we’ve worked with in Roane County that called us before we had to call them to keep abreast of a project’s status. Things will change when you’re building a dock! One of our changes required us to relocate our dock a bit which meant we had to rework the bridge area between our dock and the stairs going down to the dock. This would have been an issue for someone without design talent as well as skills, and fortunately for us you and your guys have both. A special thanks to Jason for all he did to make it turn out well. Before the building began your father came by to scope out our shoreline. He introduced himself and told me that you did your best to make your customers happy. I may have deemed him a bit biased at the time, but I’m delighted to admit your father was right. Dear Nick and Smoky Mountain Deck Builders team, Thank you for the awesome job you did transforming our front porch. We love being surrounded by the red cedar. Our neighbors stop to look and tell us how beautiful it has made our home. We really enjoy using the porch now. Sitting outside with a book and a cup of coffee and watching the wildlife gets us back in touch with our gratitude for our little spot in God’s creation. Thanks for your help with that.

Smoky Mountain Deck Builders Our experience with the Smoky Mountain Deck Builders has left us with an awesome finished product and many compliments from our family and friends. We met with Nick and told him our ideas. He took notes and then added some great suggestions. We wanted a fire pit in the middle and he worked with us on that. The Trex boards were put in at diagonals to the frame and borders. He helped us match the inlaid tiles under the fire pit area to an adjacent patio. Our old deck was 2 steps down from the patio. Nick and his crew were able to design a totally new deck that was raised up so that it was at the same level as the adjacent patio and even increased the total deck size. We had an iron railing that needed to be matched to make this all work so they had someone fabricate the new pieces. They even had someone design and build a door and a box under the Trex boards by our water faucet to hide our small hose. Everything came out like a perfect puzzle with every element matching and looking top notch!!!

We hired Smokey Mountain Deck builders to extend our 8x10 deck out back. During the demolition it was discovered that the deck was in worse shape than originally thought. Nick and guys did their best to put together a plan to demo and start fresh. The deal ended up being more than fair and we are ecstatic with the results. Our deck is now three times the size and we have received numerous compliments from our neighbors. The quality of the work is second to none and the guys are as professional as you are going to get with a deck job. Our favorite part is the built in lighting and bar top. We have no reservations with recommending SMDB but be prepared to stain your own deck or contact another contractor because staining is not included in their pricing.

It is my pleasure to write a review of our dock builder, Smoky Mountain Deck Builders. The more broad description of their work is attention to detail, great work ethics and desire to please their customer. Nick DiRoberto, the owner, listened patiently to our desires and goals and then offered some inventive, cost saving and aesthetically appealing ideas. He even came by several times to observe the project and tweaked a few things to improve the ultimate product. He is very artistic and creative and a pleasure to work with. The first crew sent to build the infrastructure and decking started early and stayed busy all day, every day! Crew chief Flip led by example. He, Marty, Jeffrey, Brandon and Ryan were meticulous in details. Absolutely no corners were cut or jobs rushed. Flip came up with a great way to have a ramp without steps. We loved this. Ryan, Marty and Jeffrey built a really nice storage unit with a custom made door frame that matches any factory frame. Some of the decking boards were cut and shaped several times over until they were satisfied with the results! No nails, only bolts and screws! Precision ruled the day. Fran, Nick’s father, who brings years of experience in dock and deck building, framing etc., joined with them to do the joists and roofing. Again, precision and attention to details were quite noteworthy. The poles were notched to set the joists on adding tremendous strength. Fran and others added high wind connectors to every cross beam, a practice usually done in Florida and other locations more prone to hurricanes and strong storms. All of these workers had a hand in attaching the rub-rails. They even mitered the corners and used special screws designed to prevent cuts to clothing, feet or skin. On the swim platform where the black rub-rail would prove too hot they rounded the decking edge. Mid way through the project we decided to use some carriage lights on each pole. Fran, Jeffrey and Ryan drilled angled long holes in the poles so the wiring would exit close to the ceiling. Very time consuming at no extra cost. Fran made special plates to mount the carriage lights onto , which was very aesthetically pleasing. The 4x4s and 6x6s were rolled to make them fit flush against the poles. Again, attention to detail. The wiring was done to minimize being seen overall. Fran and Brad installed the boat lifts with extreme accuracy. The leveling of the cross beams was nothing short of perfection. Finally, Fran and Patrick added some LED rope lights all around the bottom edge, suggested by Nick to accent the dock. They look great! Fran and Patrick ran the power down to the dock and met all of the inspector’s demands concerning breakers, wiring underground, GFI plugs etc. I need to also mention Gina, the office manager, who came by frequently, ordered any additions in a timely manner and stayed in constant contact with us. She possesses very good people skills. Great job Smoky Mountain Deck Builders! You will always have our gratitude and highest recommendations and endorsements.
