Utilizing over three decades of combined experience in the construction industry, Highline: Design & Build is a local family owned business that has been creating quality interior and exterior home remodeling projects for satisfied home owners throughout the Denver Metro and Front Range community since 2005. *Formerly Mile High Designs; In 2019, we started transitioning to Highline to differentiate ourselves from other Mile High service companies.

Ray and his crew did an extensive deck/patio redesign for us in August, 2020. Easy to work with, worked with us to optimize the design and make it the way we wanted. All work done on time and on-budget. One of the things we really liked is that Ray and his crew really listened to what we wanted and helped figure out how to get it accomplished each step of the way. We have now signed an additional contract with Highline by Mile High Designs to design and build out a complete basement living quarters during the winter months. We are so happy with our new deck! We get lots of good compliments even from people in the building industry! It was a great pleasure to work with Ray and his team! They were so knowledgeable, timely, skillful and always cautious to interact with. We are so glad we got a referral from our neighbor. We had such a positive experience working with Ray and his team for our deck & cover! This was a big investment for us, so we knew that finding the right contractor for the job was going to be important. From the initial meeting, we knew that Ray would be the perfect fit. He was very personable, knowledgable about the project, and quick to respond to emails. He always answered our questions in a lot of detail, which we appreciated in order to make decisions and understand the scope of the project. We made a few changes along the way and Ray was very accommodating and even brainstormed some new ideas with us. The online portal was helpful to track these changes as well as payments and project timeline. The onsite team also blew us away! They were very professional and hard-working each day. Not to mention they are incredibly skilled! We still talk about the trim work they did on the ceiling of the deck cover because it's beautiful and something we weren't expecting. We couldn't be happier with how the final product turned out and would recommend Ray and his team to anyone. Our neighbor even hired him to build their deck because we spoke so highly of him, and they're very happy with theirs too!

Ray and his crew did a great job building us a covering for our patio. They had multiple inspections to make sure everything was up to code before moving on to the next thing. We always knew what was going on and when the crew was going to be there. They worked efficiently and finished in the timeframe we were given. The price we payed was what we were expecting. We were happy with how everything went!

We did our research and out of the several bids and companies we interviewed, Ray proved himself in quality, craftsmanship, knowledge, and transparency. We commend him for his understanding of the business and hiring. Ray and his team of dedicated professionals constructed a beautiful deck and pergola for our family that surpasses our expectations. They did it on time, on budget, and met our high standard. We were most impressed with the work ethic of the team. They worked so hard and, at the end of each day, the site was clean and tidy. Working with Highline by Mile High Designs was the best decision and investment. Ray and his team give it their all. We are so grateful for the gift the deck they provided our family.

Ray and his team did a great job on our new covered deck. From start to finish it was a great experience and our deck is everything we hoped it would be. His team was very professional, detail oriented, and also great about communicating before and during the project about what we could expect. Ray and the crew from Mile High Designs are amazing! I would not go with any other company! Ray has done a master bath remodel for us and now a kitchen remodel and both jobs were beyond expectations! The quality of work was exceptional and the kitchen was done ahead of schedule...something that never occurs and was truly appreciated!! Ray is great about giving you ideas about what you can do, where to go look at fixtures and samples of things and where to find the best quality for the right price. This is most helpful for those of us who are unsure of exactly what to do or have trouble deciding! Next on the list is to replace our large above ground deck and maybe add a permanent covered structure. After seeing all the photos and in person work that he has done...I wouldn't trust anyone else!! Vicky Wolf

Ray and Mile High Designs replaced our existing redwood deck with a Timbertech deck. The construction is top notch and the Timbertech material is extremely durable and essentially maintenance free. Ray’s and his construction team were very friendly, on time and easy to work with. I highly recommend Mile High Designs!!

We met Ray at the Colorado Garden and Home Show in 2017. Instantly his high ethical standards were evident and we knew we wanted to work with him on our old deck demolish and new rebuild. We were warned by everyone that contractors 'these days' are highly unreliable because they have so much (too much) work available and it is hard if not possible to get their time and attention. This was NOT our experience with Mile High! They actually started sooner than promised, finished exactly when they said they would (even working through 2 snow storms), and stayed on budget! They utilize an app where they posted progress and pictures every night which was really cool especially when we were traveling. We saw the exact same crew every single day until the job was done and we honestly missed seeing their smiling professional faces around when they finished! We have several more projects and we will most definitely be considering Mile High for each of them!

TRUST. That sums up my opinion of Mile High Designs and Ray Dertz. Have contracted twice on my house, once for a backyard deck with pergola, again to remodel my forty year old kitchen. Ray has great subcontractors that show up on time and finish on time. He has a very creative side that sees a 10x12 slab of concrete and designs a perfect deck. Ray looked at my four choices of backsplash, took two home, and designed a most wonderful pattern. Looking to the future, I can’t wait to see what happens when the basement is remodeled.

Kommenterade: who manufacture this railing? is it custom? thank you.This is Timbertech brand railing. The style is called Evolutions Contemporary Builder Rail. The color is Walnut. For the balusters we used Deckorators Aluminum. The rail is all built on site.

Kommenterade: Looks great! What type of wood and stain is used?I apologize for the delayed response! This is redwood with Penofin cedar tone stain. The redwood is Con Common grade, knotty.
