Robert Hais

Born in Halmstad 1978 with roots in Czech Republic. Studied art in London, Gothenburg and Halmstad. The paintings create a sense of space. They tell a contemporary story of events and thoughts. Through a gesture in the artworks you are offered to participate. I think of paintings as objects rather than images, that way the distance between the work and observer is reduced. It is my intention to get as close as possible in order to connect. The subject matter can sometimes be hidden, often contradictory and philosophical in nature. The works include paintings, sculpture and installations.
