StoneWood Builders built us our dream home. I can not say enough great things about the experience we had with SWB and the owner, Nate. He helped guide us through all of the questions and decisions we had to make while building our first home. The thing that stood out to me the most during the whole build process was the high quality of all the work performed. I would highly recommend SWB to anyone looking to build a home or get renovation work done. The quality of his work speaks for itself. (Note, the yard is not yet completed in one of the photos due to the time of year our build got completed. The driveway, topsoil, and hydroseeding will be happening when weather allows)

We partnered with Nate and the Stonewood team to build our single family home in York, Maine. Nate was professional and communicative throughout the process-- from bidding to final walkthrough. Our home was a speciality project given we used plans from an architecture firm and continued consulting with the architects during the build. Nate was an excellent partner in that process and built our home to their demanding level of specification. Nate brought a “can do” attitude to the project that was critical to its success, particularly given the technical and detail oriented nature of building a passive-style home like ours which requires tight air sealing and speciality insulation steps. Additionally, the fine carpentry details that accent the house were completed with a high level of craftsmanship. Overall, we are very satisfied with Nate & the Stonewood team and would gladly partner again.

Nate and his team were amazing. They were kind, thorough, respectful, and incredibly talented. Our project blew our expectations out of the water, and their attention to detail made all the difference. We trusted their input, and were rewarded greatly for it. My only regret is that they didn’t build our entire house. I recommend them to anyone looking to improve their living space!

Stonewood recently completed an expansion on our home which included the demo of the space above our garage and turned it into a beautiful primary bedroom with a full bath and walk in closet. They were on time, on budget and the nicest team! They had great ideas and flexed as we saw the space and changed ideas along they way. We recommend them to anyone looking for a new home or an upgrade. We wish they had built our original home!

Nate and his team were great to work with. We had a few bumps along the way (which is normal) but Nate and his team communicated well and worked to smooth things out. We could not be happier with the way the house turned out. Nate was also very attentive after the fact to make sure that the punch list got worked through. We hired StoneWood Builders to renovate our downstairs bathroom and kitchen. We love our new bathroom shower and tile floor and the new kitchen countertops. Nate and his crew (including the tile installers and electrician) were a pleasure to work with - responsive to our questions, promptly returned phone calls and texts, coordinated seamlessly with the countertop installer and followed-up to make sure that we were satisfied.

Nate, Dan and the entire StoneWood team were a pleasure to work with. They are extremely professional, thorough and talented at what they do. Both Nate & Dan were available 24/7 to discuss any aspect of the project and kept me up to date on the status of the work. As everyone knows no project is free from issues that come up. Nate & Dan went above and beyond to ensure the project continued seamlessly on time and on budget. This was a kitchen renovation on a summer home that we were not onsite for which can make for it's own logistical challenges but Stonewood constantly over communicated with me. I will definitely hire them again.

We had a great experience with Stonewood Builders. This young, dynamic group of people are on top of their game, from active participation during concept development, all the way to the end, providing essential input on final changes. They creatively combined two rooms (one of which was partially subterranean) into a loft style space, totally transforming on entire end of an expanded Cape. All of the work was done professionally and on time. Both Nate and Daniel were available pretty much all of the time as the project progressed, which is a rare and huge asset! We highly recommend this contractor!

I had a great experience with StoneWood Builders. I hired them to renovate a lakeside cottage that my husband and I had purchased in 2018. This property required a LOT of different projects, from new siding and a new roof to added insulation, taking down/putting up walls, new front steps, installation of new flooring (porcelain and bamboo), plumbing, electrical, interior painting, etc. Given the scope of the project, we knew we needed one contractor to do everything. We spoke to several different companies but ultimately decided on StoneWood. Nate and Dan were professional, responsive, and efficient. They were always able to provide good advice about layouts and materials. Their work was quick but not sloppy. They offered several "add ons" to our project which we often took advantage of, like adding a beautiful stone veneer around our fireplace. We are still furnishing/decorating the home but once it is done, I'll add before/after pictures to this review. We're very satisfied with StoneWood and are so happy with our new home.
