Refresh and Build

Refresh and Build recently completed renovations to my Hayes Valley (San Francisco) condo including a complete bathroom remodel, new floors throughout, new light fixtures, and a several other modifications. I selected R & B because of excellent online reviews and a reasonable initial estimate. In fact, R & B’s bid was about ½ of the other bid I received—for the same job! So, the decision was easy—and it proved to be the right decision. Sam, the project manager, was personable, flexible, and accommodating. He provided me with a wide choice of items and materials from which to choose. He was especially attentive to the cost of various fixtures and supplies and did push high-end items. The workers I encountered were all pleasant and professional. One of my neighbors even told me he was impressed by how friendly and quiet they were. The remodel wet very well, but very slowly, with many delays. The delays were often beyond Sam’s control—supply problems, the wrong materials delivery, broken items delivered, and the usual inspection issues. Despite the delays, the renovation process was positive overall. I can’t imagine having a more successful remodel at a more reasonable price. I certainly recommend Refresh and Build.

I have worked with Sam of Refresh and Build on several projects and am writing this review to express my utmost satisfaction with their work. As a person who values professionalism, I was thoroughly impressed by their commitment and attention to detail. From the initial stages of projects to their completion, their team consistently exhibited exemplary organization, coordination and problem-solving skills. They communicated and worked with us throughout the projects. The efforts they put forth in keeping a clean construction site was a sign of their professionalism and ownership of their work. I believe this contributed to the safety, efficiency, and a professional environment. I would highly recommend Refresh and Build to anyone seeking a contractor.

I had a great experience with Sam and the Refresh & Build crew! From the moment I first met him, he was kind enough to take off his shoes, very kind in explaining the process, asking how much I wanted to be involved in the design or have him take the lead (I let him lead). From there I pulled together a [Sensitive Date Hidden], he sent me options for materials and handled all of the scheduling with the crew, inspections, etc. I was pretty hands off with the whole time, and am in love with the result!

Sam is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and professional. He bid out our project promptly, and took the time to explain everything in detail. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances (discovery of asbestos + foundation issues), the timing and scope of our project will likely change, so we have not hired him for the job initially described, but this was certainly not his fault! He took the time to review the structural engineer's report, and encouraged us to get a detailed plan from the engineer before moving forward with any work. We hope to work with him in the future, but since I'm not sure how long it will take us to sort everything out, just thought I should post this now. Thanks, Sam!

I would highly recommend Refresh and Build for any type of remodel. We worked with them for our kitchen remodel and had such a smooth and easy, low stress experience. Everyone was so thoughtful and considerate of the fact that my husband and I both work from home. Each team we had come into our house was respectful and nice. They went above and beyond with small details. I appreciated all their effort to make the most out of our remodel. I can't recommend them enough and I've already given their name out to friends.

We had a wonderful experience from the beginning. Our project manager Sam was extremely helpful and communicative throughout the entire process and went above and beyond to help us navigate, even through inspection delays. It was extremely helpful to have someone that was so punctual, responsive and receptive, and he shouldered a lot of the stress for us as well. We could not be happier with the finished bathroom, it is exactly what we hoped/expected and the craftsmanship and attention to detail is obvious. We will definitely be using Refresh and Build for future projects, and can't recommend them, and Sam, enough!

I had my bathroom remodeled by Refresh and Build and they did amazing job. I love how they handled the permits and the work was great.

We just bought our condo and my wife and I wanted to do upgrades before we moved in. Even before getting the keys, the project manager Paul accepted to meet with us to get a sense of the types of designs we wanted and also get a ballpark price of the remodel. My wife and I felt very comfortable with Paul, he mentioned that he will help with the permitting and inspections and help choose all the finishes like tiles and counters ..etc. The price was great, the work was awesome, the crew showed up every day and did an excellent job. Lucio, the forman was asking us how we would like things, like the height of the shower head, the layout of the tiles and that actually made me very happy. Customer service was amazing, they picked all the materials we purchased online and all the inspections were passed. We had to move to relocate during the remodel and they used zoom to update us about the progress. We are enjoying our kitchen and two bathrooms. We recommended Refresh and Build to our parents and friends and they're very happy too.

We did a remodel for our bathroom and kitchen with Refresh and Build, it was a great experience, hustle-free. They took care of permits, inspections and the work was flawless with great workmanship. The price was very affordable comparing other bids we had from other contractors. I'd recommend Refresh and Build again.

We wanted to build a new ADU in the basement of our building in San Francisco, then we called again Sam from Refresh and Build, to build one kitchen, two bathrooms, and 3 bedrooms. They gave us a very reasonable price, then applied for the permit and Sam told us it'll be best to do the retrofitting since they were digging to have the 8' ceiling anyway. so they applied for the permit for that too, They strengthened the foundation, installed all new electrical circuits throughout the floor and new plumbing and new drainage system and passed all rough inspections with flying colors. Then installed all the walls, patched and painted, installed kitchen cabinets, countertops, backsplash, tiling the bathroom floors, and tub and shower areas, and the all the fixtures, Everything went smoothly and clear communication and well competent team. We have now happy tenants that love the place and we are happy too! I'd highly recommend Refresh&Build and their crews.

We hired Refresh & Build to renovate our kitchen after the water line to our fridge leaked and caused extensive damage. Sam and his team were absolutely fantastic! Sam was super responsive, went above and beyond with service and communication. His team was extremely professional and did an incredible job. They even finished ahead of schedule. We plan to use Sam and his team again for future projects and would highly recommend them!

The team was professional, courteous, and quality of work was top notch. R&B was flexible with last minute changes we had and accommodating when it came to early finish dates to help our family move in. I would absolutely recommend R&B in the future.
