We first met Slavica in May 2017 when she came to our co-op soon after our purchase. She made a positive impression on us right away when she saw positives about the apartment and made initial suggestions. Slavica always listened to our needs and also gave many helpful suggestions through the design process. She was able to understand our taste and budget, taking us to showrooms where she helped us narrow down our choices and make decisions. Her artistic expertise made us confident in our choices. She was patient with our lack of experience. We have been totally satisfied and happy with all the decisions. The board of our co-op was very, very reluctant to allow the addition of a shower to compete our vision of a master bath. Slavica went above and beyond our expectations to provide technical information that finally convinced them that it would be okay. She was with us, step by step through the process of choosing a contractor. ultimately we took a chance on a company who seemed to have good references and price. Our contractor caused many delays, missteps and difficulties during the construction time. Slavica was always willing to help us deal with him, trouble shoot and speak on our behalf. Slavica was always polite, professional, full of ideas, available and dependable. Her quiet but strong manner made her so easy to talk to and work with. Her knowledge of the business was a huge plus. Without hesitation we would hire her again and recommend her.

Slavica has been wonderful during the current planning process of our renovation. She is available, responsive, patient and thorough. Slavica explains the details of her ideas, send links/photos as needed and is creative with space and room design. She is willing to communicate /coordinate with the designer and contractor as well as our condo board and the DOB. She has referrals for other professionals as well.

We are writing in support of our Architect Slavica Nova Nikolic. We dreamed of renovating our 1909 two story building for years and we finally found an architect to help realize our dreams. We had met with several candidates in hopes of finding someone that would help us bring out the best in our house. We wanted an open feel that matched our eclectic taste of mid-century modern and pop culture but wanted some originally details to come through. Ms. Nikolic fit the bill. From the start, she brought reality to our project. Ms. Nikolic was thoughtful in her approach and developed different plans to present to us. The plans addressed our need for an open concept with proper lighting, space for our art work and climate control. Once we decided on a plan, Ms. Nikolic helped us find a fantastic contractor, handled the permits, and expertly analyzed our needs for lighting and heat/air output. Her plan included a brilliant way of using different ceiling heights to define spaces in our open concept house – it is a wonderful way to make an open space feel homey. During the project, she voiced our needs with our contractor to make sure the right lighting, flow and climate control were realized. When dealing with design elements and lighting, Ms. Nikolic lent expert advice and helped us incorporate our pop culture design wishes and proposed a pleasing lighting combination. Ms. Nikolic knows when to offer advice and occasionally when to insist. When we didn’t want to take her expert advice, she developed alternatives that worked! We are so pleased with our new home – it is a joy to live, cook, read and be a family in our open but homey space.

My husband and I recently completed a two apartment combination and total renovation and remodel. We hired Slavica Novak Nikolic of Urban Bond Creative. She came highly recommended by friends of ours who also did a two apartment combination almost ten years ago. After ten years, their apartment still looks beautiful and has a timeless and classic design with modern touches. Slavica served as our architect, project manager, and interior decorator. She shepherded our project from the beginning to the end, starting with the design of the combined apartment to the management of the construction to the interior decorating and finally to the addition of finishing touches, including the introduction of feng shui of the present time design elements. We worked closely with Slavica in designing a beautiful and modern apartment that is also comfortable and pragmatic for family living. With young children, it was important for us to ensure that the apartment would meet our family's needs. Some of our favorite parts of the apartment are the eat-in kitchen with a built-in dining booth with cushioned benches seating 5 comfortably, our master bedroom with ensuite bath and walk-in closet (with two entry points into the closet, one leading directly into the master bathroom), our spacious office with a floating built-in desk, our open living and dining room which serves as an inviting entertaining space while also being a comfortable place for our family to unwind and relax, and all of the beautifully designed and crafted built-ins that have met and exceeded our storage needs. Our children love their bedrooms, their blackboard chalk wall, and their fun, colorful, and spacious playroom. Slavica invited the kids' input throughout the design process and created spaces for them that reflect their personalities. From the gorgeous lighting (recessed, pendant, and cove lighting) to the selection of beautiful and comfortable furniture to the elegant window treatments to the finer details of carefully selected matching walnut wood finishes, she left no stone unturned in creating our family's home. She also expanded the size of our bathrooms, three of which now have double sinks - a huge luxury in NYC. Slavica has vision, creativity, attention to detail, and elegant taste. Beyond her undeniable talent, Slavica is a skilled communicator, an effective leader, and an excellent problem-solver. She developed good working relationships with our contracting team, managed them effectively, and was able to solve problems often with solutions that were seamless. Slavica also spent a considerable amount of time getting to know our family and our living needs. She was available on weekends for shopping trips and accommodated our work schedules notwithstanding her own busy schedule. She is an incredibly hard-working, gifted, and capable professional (and wonderful person) who created a home for us beyond what we could have ever imagined. Our new home is an oasis of light, comfort, peaceful energy, and joy.

Slavica was recommended to us by a common friend and helped us design our newly purchased classic six apartment on Riverside Drive. We wanted to preserve the original elegance of the prewar luxury and ensure that the apartment is warm and functional for our growing family. She guided us through the project skillfully, and we enjoyed meeting with her and participating in creative design process. She did a design work, helped with choosing lighting, furniture, accessories, and assisted with purchasing. She directed us to to create antique stores and introduced us to a custom fabric contractor who did curtains and custom upholstery. Slavica is very detail oriented and passionate about design. I was very glad we decided to engage the interior designer, and she made that experience very unique. She acknowledged our design direction and brought great ideas. She did lots of sketches, brought many samples and design schemes, which made the entire experience very much fun. She was resourceful about interior decorations, various options, suppliers, and alternatives Always very professional and ready to answer any questions we had, Slavica was quite thorough in her correspondence. We enjoyed working with her and recommended her on several occasions. She is reliable and professional and very resourceful interior designer.

Slavica helped to combine a one bedroom and a two bedroom apt into our NYC home and oasis. She was a pleasure to work with and I always felt that she was fully vested in the project, troubleshooting contractor issues and delivering solutions construction surprises. She had clever ideas and also helped with designing recommendations when we had questions regarding look and style for our new apartment. Honest, motivated, reliable and extremely creative. We would recommend her (and have!) to anyone.
