Nationally renowned, Portland based designer, Cristina Barclay, continues to create environments that are an integration of architecture and design. Her design philosophy focuses on clean lines, sophisticated colors and texture in materials to create impressive yet subtle contrasts in each space. Refined classicism, tempered modernism, eclectic and thoughtful define Barclay Interior Design Group. As a designer, Cristina Barclay's focus remains constant on the importance of each space as it relates to the architecture and its occupants. She seeks to enrich each project with the beauty and originality to match the client. Cristina's elegant yet edited approach to her projects, yields classic and comfortable interiors. Special attention is devoted to editing and defining spaces that are individual to each client and yet remain timeless and fluid. Cristina Barclay continues to be a major force in the design community. Her projects are continually featured in several national publications such as Better Homes and Gardens "Beautiful Homes", Better Homes and Gardens "Beautiful Baths", and Better Homes and Garden "Beautiful Kitchens" just to name a few. She has won many awards for her projects including the most recent awards for the 2005 Best of American Living Awards sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders where she received a Platinum Award for the Best Master Bath, Gold Award for the Best Kitchen, and Silver Award for the Best Powder Room.

Tina Barclay was hired to help with a kitchen remodel. Preliminary sketches of the kitchen layout had been completed, and she then took over the project, designing the cabinetry and lighting layouts, and assisting with the flooring, tile, and hardware selection. She helped us find a good contractor and was available for consultation throughout the project. She is absolutely wonderful to work with: always professional, respectful of the client's ideas and aesthetic, mindful of the project cost, and willing to suggest alternatives. A year has passed since the kitchen remodel (plus extensive flooring replacement and upgrades to hallway doors, trim, and lighting) was completed. We are still completely satisfied with our experience working with her and also with the remodel itself.

We are currently working with Tina Barclay of Barclay Design Group on a extensive home remodel, building a home for my in-laws and a stand alone home gym and garage/shop. Each of these projects themselves would be a large job, but Tina is handling all three at the same time with the upmost professionalism. Tina is extremely talented and is willing to work within budgets, but has amazing taste and ideas. She is organized, timely and is always positive and willing to guide without making it her decision. She understands each client's style and budget and brings options to them which helps the process much less stressful and overwhelming. She strives to create a home that is timeless and that also fits with the personality and taste of the clients she serves. I have enjoyed working with Tina on these projects and would work again with her in the future. I highly recommend Tina and the Barclay Design Group!

We hired Tina to help with the remodel of our entrance/living room/stairs. She listened to ideas and came up with a design we love. She works with several incredible vendors and we love the contractor she suggested to do our work. We have not completed all of the design elements in her plan yet, but plan to do so over time. The carpet she designed, stair treads, black out curtains and the custom glass and dark wood railing for our balcony and stairs, all turned out well and we are very happy with them. When we decide to remodel another room we will definitely call Tina.

The designer was very professional. I hired her on an hourly basis, but never received an itemized billing--just a balance due statement. I very much liked her design of my bathroom, yet did not feel that I received her full attention or best advice on tile selection. I initiated a change that I feel she should have recognized was a mistake, rather than suggesting/agreeing on the color change. I am disappointed in the result.

This client hired me for a small master bathroom remodel. In addition, she asked for backsplash material and design specification for her kitchen, living room fireplace mantel design and surround material, paint colors, lighting specification for master bedroom, and consultation on design elements for the modest master bedroom. There was never any request for itemized design time billing. We keep accurate records in a time billing
program so if any client requests a breakdown of how time was spent, we can issue a detailed time billing statement. This client and her contractor purchased all materials with exception of two light fixtures which we were able to provide at a better price. An itemized invoice was sent for these two fixtures. I had met with this client and her contractor post installation and both were quite happy with the final product. I am quite surprised at this review which is contrary to all emails and meeting documentation for this project.

I have been working with Tina for over 15 years now, helping with her specification needs for carpet for her new construction and remodel projects. She has an incredible eye for style and quality of product, she takes great care to work with the appropriate product for her clients projects. She understands the value in sourcing quality goods in different price ranges so that she delivers long lasting value. I have enjoyed being able to work with her with her past projects and look forward to the future ones! I would absolutely recommend Tina with great confidence.

Barclay Interior Design Group has been a wonderful firm to do business with. They understand their customer and provide great thoughtfulness to the projects.. Their professional attitude excelled in all areas. I could not be more pleased!!

We hired Tina to help us take our kitchen and living room back to its Mid Century Modern roots. We had a vision and many ideas of what we wanted but could not articulate. She listened carefully, was a joy to collaborate with, knew when to quietly persist and gave us exactly what we wanted! A kitchen and living room that is as functional as it is beautiful and just our style. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the remodel process were invaluable as well as her ability to work with builders and sub contractors. Thank you, Tina! Can't wait and wouldn't hesitate to work with you again soon!

Tina was very enjoyable to work with. We remodeled the first floor of our home, and had a short window of time to complete the project. Tina was very expedient. She provided us with valuable information through each phase of the process, searched out and narrowed down all design choices, and oversaw everything from lighting design to drapery installation. Tina was fun to work with---always positive and energetic. Her knowledge of the industry is second to none, and we would not have been able to finish by our deadline without her expertise. We are very happy with the results!

Tina pretty much decorated my 4500 square foot house .she did all fabrics,window coverings,custom bedding,carpets,lighting,wallcolors,.she did a fabulous job of using some of my own key pieces and filling in as needed.we were extremely happy with everything she did . Always in a timely manner and she kept within our budget! I would highly recommend her .i am hoping to use her again for our next project redoing our Lake Tahoe house.

We at the NEST SHOWROOM work with Tina on a weekly basis, and she is one of our favorite clients . She is always professional, timely, and understands the logistics of clients and projects . She is sincerely a joy to be around and work with . I would hire Tina to work on my house as I know that it would be a enjoyable experience and receive the results I want with my budget respected

Tina was fun to work with, as well as professional. She allowed me to have as much input as I wanted and directed me gently when needed. We completely furnished the formal living room, entry and den. Additionally she had 2 of my favorite pieces of furniture reupholstered for us, which now people do not even recognize as our former pieces. She had my silk taffeta drapes remade into roman shades for the family room and into soft romans for the formal spaces. They also are beautiful. Her subs were extremely competent, their attention to detail was superb, and they were also pleasant and courteous people. The overall finished project is comfortable, functional, and lovely in every respect, plus I gained a friend in the process!

Tina did an amazing job of helping us redecorate our foyer, family room, kids bathroom, master bedroom, and master bath. She stayed with in our budget (though we added to the project as we went along because we were so happy with what was happening). She made recommendations and then allowed us to do work ourselves (painting, etc). She also gave us honest feedback when another vendor could provide a better price (window blinds) yet still helped us pick them out. We had some pieces (furniture, etc) we wanted to keep and she blended them in with new items in a way that gave us a whole new look. Her custom window treatments are high end and absolutely gorgeous. We are thrilled with the results and have several more rooms we'd like to work on with her this year.
