Om oss

We believe in quality design, attention to detail, and a positive working relationship. We are Todd Harrison and Jim Schnauss, craftsmen with over 30 years combined experience creating custom metalwork. Railings, gates, fences, doors, stairs, furniture, signs, art installations, and more. We work with a variety of techniques and offer a range of finishes. Our products are built to last. We work with home owners, architects, designers, contractors, and landscape architects to create well crafted metalwork for any location or need. We run a small shop in Seattle's Interbay neighborhood. We take pride in providing you with a positive working relationship and a product you love.

Blackbird did an outstanding job building a railing for our old Ballard concrete steps. It has simple beautiful design. It's solid, functional, and makes our stairs safe. All for a reasonable price and great service. Can't recommend them enough!

Todd Harrison and Blackbird Iron and Design built and designed an excellent railing for our entryway. Todd took the time to consider the style of the house , the existing interior railings and our personal needs to come up with a perfect solution. He is friendly and professional. We feel we made an excellent choice and you will to if you choose Blackbird.

Thanks so much to the Team at Blackbird Iron...What a great job. From their initial communications it was obvious their desire was to create the railings we had envisioned. They came back to us quickly with working drawings so we could see they hit the plan right on target, this was included with a very fair cost for fabrication and installation. Installation day came with a custom rail system that exceeded our expectations, both quality of workmanship and the crew that installed it; "what a bunch of fun folks". 3 Flights of stairs on a high-end custom town home located at the world famous Pike's Place Market.

Blackbird did a set of deck railings for us. They were helpful during the design process, timely in their delivery, fairly priced, built a quality product and met all of our expectations. (Todd is a nice guy too. ) We expect to rehire them shortly for some additional work in the back of the house in the near future.

Todd and his team have worked on some of our projects, including a new entry at The Highlands in Newcastle. This project required handrails at both stair and ramp locations. Todd provides detailed quotes for his work and is on time and on budget. HIs work is of the highest quality.
