Trego Architects, LLC

Trego Architects completed the Design and Construction Drawings for the new home we will build next year. We worked with Mike and Sandy, we really enjoyed the process. When we met initially Trego did a good job outlining their services and we came away knowing what to expect. They are very knowledgeable and did a good job performing within our timeline and budget.

Mike and sandy took my line drawn floor plan and roughelevation drawing and produced blueprints which well satisfied the inspectors and contractors. Mike properly designed some out of the ordinary structural things. Mike researched rough saw floor joists for the loft so that they would show and be used as ceilings in the first floor rooms. I was told a number of places that this was not possible but Mike did it in a way that kept the inspector happy. I also wanted windows and doors centered on the ends that supported the ridge beam. Mike made that work too. My wife and I wanted a Scandinavian cottage. Sandy researched and designed window styles and trim that gave us that look. I was particularly impressed at how she integrated lap siding, board and batten siding and cedar shake siding to give eye appeal to the large outside wall surfaces.

Loved working with Sandra and Mike. They looked at my building site and really designed a beautiful lake home with great views from every room. I would recommend them highly for new construction or remodel.

Our experience with Sandy was excellent. She helped us with a whole house remodel. As anyone can imagine, this can be very stressful but she made it easier. We had many changes throughout and she worked hard until it was a good fit for us. She was just amazing with her skill and knowledge of the littlest details. We highly recommend her!

I am the treasurer of the Watertown Players, a non-profit community theatre in Watertown WI. We needed an architect to draw up how we would remodel an existing retail space into a theater for our group. We wanted to include places for performing, rehearsing and for classes. Mike Trego and his associate did an excellent job, not only at listening to what our needs were, but also incorporating our ideas with the modifications that had to occur to get our space "up to code'. Mike Trego and his associate were available at hours that were convenient for us and this helped us all to work efficiently with no wasted time. Mike did a great job explaining the details of what needed to take place without using technical jargon that may have been confusing. On behalf of the Watertown Players, I give him our highest recommendation.

When I needed to open up a wall in my rental unit Mike provided a high level of knowledge. He worked with me to make sure the structure was sound and any plumbing and electrical lines were rerouted correctly and to code. When thinking of doing a complete remodel of my flat Mike and Sandy came over, took detailed measurements inspected structure integrity, and made three different layout options for me to choose from. They also helped with providing a realistic quote for me to go off of.

Mike Trego with Trego Architects assisted my company by designing a new handicap ramp for a foster parent that just adopted a special needs child. He was generous enough to donate his time and talents to this worthy cause, and his expertise in working through code issues while designing a functional and attractive ramp was integral to the success of this challenging project. I'd highly recommend Mike Trego and I hope we have the opportunity to work with him again in the future.

We were referred to Sandy and Mike through mutual friends. I remember sitting on our deck with the Tregos and discussing possibilities for remodel of our lake cottage (which had multiple add-ons with varying degrees of success over the previous 3 decades). Sandy wandered around the interior and asked us various questions about how we live our lives (we have two daughters, then ages 8 and 4). Her keen sense for tailoring an architecture that was not only aesthetically appealling from the exterior but fashioned around the lifestyle we described as our vision of our future as a family was reflected in product made real by the Tregos. Mike and Sandy had to undergo several design changes as destruction/construction was underway. They met every challenge with vigor and professionalism unrivaled by any big-box architect. As a bonus, we hired Sandy to consult with us on our interior color coordination including paint, trim, counters and cabinets. Trego designed our newly constructed lake home. Sandy's creative eye was able to take advantage of providing a stunning lake view from nearly every room in the house. We've been complimented many times on the wonderful flow of the house while the curb appeal of her design from the outside has made countless heads turn as they are driving by. She makes use of space very well, both by providing incredible living areas but also by using every possible corner for convenient and ample storage. We are very happy with Sandy's design and would recommend Trego to all.
