Please turn around and forget about getting any honest, truthful work out of Total Solutions or the contractor, Tom Andrews. After hiring Tom and his team to come and build a deck and re-do a master bath, he claimed it would take 2-3 weeks and we would be impressed with his work. After weeks of paltry work, Tom kept pulling workers off the project until only one was around to work on both a deck and a bathroom. The project was never finished and as of December, we are now working with another contractor to rebuild the deck from the ground up since the work Tom and his team did was not only out of code, but was already showing signs of loss of structural integrity. Absolute garbage from this man. Also told us we didn't need permits, which was not accurate at all. Tom Andrews license was expired and we did not notice until another customer posted on here. When confronted, he became defensive and proceeded to blame the state of NJ and claimed he wouldn't' have known unless clients told him. We gave him over 10 days to rectify the situation. Did he? No. Claimed he did, which was another false tale from Tom. All we had to do was call the NJ board of contractors again and check his license number to find he hadn't done anything he's said. We fired him and haven't heard a word from him since. I can't understand how someone can just spew false promises and take your money and then carry on with life. You are quite literally better off hiring a 12 year old to build something for you than Tom. Please please do not waste your time on this man. Tom will say and promise anything to get your business and then pull back those promises after he has delayed the project. Tom Andrews claims he is a professional and has been doing this for over 26 years, and tried to convince me to take his word and that the permits didn't matter. Just stay away and go with someone else.

This is my experience with this contractor, Tom Andrews. Initially I was looking for someone to remodel my kitchen and to adjust the supports under the kitchen floor. They came and took lots of pictures and measurements and left. Tom came back on March 21, 2019 and we disgusted exactly what was needed. Everything would be replaced except for the stove, dish washer and refrigerator. He wrote up the contract of the work to be done along with the quote and we agreed that the job wouldn’t take more than “3 weeks” and he would start on Monday, April 8th. As part of a verbal agreement for the so called wonderful price he gave me I had to promise to not divulge to anyone the amount of the project and I had to promise to five him a 5 star review. When he didn’t show on April 8th, I called and he explained that the job he was working was taking longer than expected and he would state my job on the following Saturday, April 14 at 8:30 am. They did show up at 8:30 am, however, they didn’t finish their day until 1:30 am. During the first day, they removed my entire kitchen. The only thing left was a big rectangular room with a refrigerator and a huge rectangular cut out in the floor where the sink was to examine the structure underneath. He immediately found huge problems and told me it would cost me and additional 31% of the original cost and had to be paid immediately. I paid that amount up front because if I didn’t he wouldn’t continue the work. After they left the first day, I found that I could not turn off the kitchen light because they messed up the wiring. It stayed lit till they return the following Saturday. They were supposed to come back on Monday but they were a no show. When I called him he said they couldn’t make it till the following Saturday. From then on it was like pulling teeth to get them back to to the work. He wouldn’t answer my calls and texts. They never worked more than one day a week, if that, and every time they came and left something else was broken or turned off. The following Saturday they came and worked under the kitchen floor. During that time they moved my refrigerator and broke my ice maker. Every time they returned they tried to fix it but could not. I finally was able to get it fixed myself 3 weeks later. Here are a few examples of the things they broke: They put a hole in my dish washer when they removed it. It was found when they put it back in. I had to pay for a new dish washer that Tom picked up. I agreed just the get the job done. The new pipes they put under the kitchen sink leaked and had to be fixed the next time they showed up. The valve they put in the basement for the pipes under the kitchen also leaked. The lights in the basement were disconnected and in order to get them to fix them I had to cut off half the lights. This was found when I check the fuse box and found that the box was open and all the wires were sticking out all over. I found that the sump pump wasn’t working a few weeks after they left because the electric in the basement was cut to the outlet it was connected to causing a flood in the basement. On the last day they were here, while they were packing to leave, I found that the electric to my office area wasn’t working and they had to fix that. As of today, 10/24/19, the job still isn’t complete. I paid them, in full, the last day they were here with the understanding that his cabinet guy was coming back to put in my 6 inch counter top window sills and the pullouts for the fake drawers under the sink. Big mistake! It’s been a month since I text him last with no response. After he left I realized the his painter never finished the painting around the windows and the paint on the main wall was so thin that the first time I tried wash a spot using the Mr. clean sponge that they recommended, the paint washed right off. Tom promised they would fix that too. Tom makes a lot of promises but is not able to keep them. The final job took 8 weeks and for 6 of those weeks I lived with an empty, rectangular room with nothing but the refrigerator and it’s still incomplete. This whole experience was a nightmare and I believe that he totally took advantage of me. If you’re planning on any type of upgrade or remodel save yourself time, money and aggravation and find someone else. This contractor is just totally unreliable. One more thing. Always check to see if your contractor’s license is up to date. During his time here I checked and found that Tom’s license was expired. I made sure to let him know that before he left.

Below is my experience with this contractor. Initially when we began looking for a contractor for our custom closet project, Tom Andrews from Total Solutions NP was extremely engaged, returning all calls and showing up for appointments when expected. This continued UNTIL he cashed the down payment for the work. At that point he became unresponsive and unreliable. To be more specific, during our meeting on May 4th, Tom stated the job would take 3 weeks from when he started (which included time to procure the materials, finish up another job etc). The plan was to begin work in the next two weeks. After countless phone calls, 15 text messages, excuses and 10 weeks, Total Solutions finally showed up to start the job on July 1st. The team worked for 2.5 days (they did not show up on time, bring the correct tools or have the design plans which caused countless errors with the construction). On July 3rd, they stopped work due to the holiday and promised they would be back Monday. After countless phone calls (again), 9 text messages, 4 weeks, excuses and lies, Total Solutions returns on July 30th. During this time, I learned materials were never procured. After further research, I learned that Tom’s contractor license expired earlier in the year(found on consumer affairs website) and that he lied on multiple occasions. I fired this contractor on August 1st. I did request a refund, to which he agreed (the difference between the ~$5K of work done in 14 weeks vs the $15K deposit he received for materials). To date, I have yet to receive a check or a return phone call. Save yourself time and money and find another contractor to do your work.

Total Solutions did a wonderful job eliminating the mold problem I had in the attic. They were prompt, trustworthy and extremely neat. The job was completed in just a few days. They even hooked up a roof fan with thermostat at no extra cost. Fantastic job! Thank you so much!

The work performed by Total Solutions NP included a complete kitchen renovation, as well as renovation of a laundry room, living room, office, and foyer. Tom kept me up to date and involved in the process every step of the way, taking out all of the usual guess work that a project of this size usually entails. The project areas were kept very clean and tidy from demolition to final install - no small feat considering the amount of work involved. Everything was completed on time and on budget; with an attention to detail in carpentry and craftsmanship that exceeded my expectations - the end result is beautiful! I could not have asked for anything more.

I hired this contractor to remove and replace the roof of my residence. Having over 50 years in the construction industry, I can say this is one of the most professional and friendly contractors I have worked with. Their attention to detail, knowledge of the work requirements and work quality are excellent. I was particularly impressed with the way they protected the property from damage during the removal of the existing roof and chimney and the provisions for safety of the workmen during the removal and replacement. The project was completed ahead of time and on budget and the site was left clean and undamaged. I would highly recommend this contractor.

A bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, laundry and adjacent hall were destroyed by water from a pipe that burst during last winter's cold snap. Tom and his team were timely and on budget... or they clearly explained why things would vary. The workmanship was stellar - exquisite attention to detail in all areas. The tiling requirements were especially complicated as marble, glass, porcelain of all sizes were used. The finished job blew us away. The woodworking job was also noteworthy as Tom and his men imaginatively restored wood doors, wood molding and trim salvaged from the flood. Painting was great. Hardworking, timely, neat and beautiful! Many thanks for a job well done.

My fiancé and I took a chance and bought a property here in Wildwood NJ in September 2017. We thought it would be great to fix it up ourselves but it turned out to be much more work then we ever imagined. We decided 1 year later that it was time to upgrade our kitchen but we were going to hire professionals. We put a request out online and Tom came to meet us the same day. The next day he came by with samples and ideas for our kitchen. His suggestions were spot on with our vision. His guys got started the very next day. They really had their work cut out for them considering we had bought a 100 year old home and the old plumbing and electric had to be integrated with the new. We had black mold and burnt wood under our house from hurricane flooding and a previous fire which they treated for us also. When I’m in my new kitchen it feels like I’m in a brand new home. It’s absolutely beautiful and I never imagined it could look this amazing. Tom, Walt and the crew have become like family to us and I’ll never hire anyone else to come remodel our home. We plan on expanding the remodeling of our home in the future and Total Solutions are our number 1 contractors to get the job done for us. ~Amber Egan Wildwood NJ

We hired Tom to renovate our main bathroom. I have been dreaming of a full renovation for 10 years, and I needed To hire a professional that was willing and able to make my dream a reality! My bathroom project was not a walk in the park. Walls were moved, plumbing had to be changed, complete layout reimagined. Tom and his crew listened, gave me feedback and went to work. Unexpected problems came up right from the start... black mold, Impossible design, broken pipes... but none of the problems seemed to be a problem for Tom and Walt. Problems were address and fixed, Materials were changed to prevent future problems, no corners were cut, and EVERY little detail was sweat! The results are nothing short then perfection!!!! I got everything I asked for.... laundry shoot, rised stone finish, even (to the inch) subway tile, and the most beautiful barn doors one can ask for!!!! Loved the renovation so much, I ended up changing all the flooring in the bedrooms to hand finished hickory hardwood floors!! And got myself the pantry cabinet of my dreams! Not enough words allowed here to express my gratitude and appreciation to Tom and his crew, for the professionalism, and quality of craftsmanship!!! The only crew that will EVER work in my house. The first time I used Tom and his crew was for my attic restoration/mold remediation. I can't say enough about how pleasant and professional the guys were. They worked efficiently, put everything back were it belonged and vacuumed every piece of debris up. Having two dogs and an elderly husband they made sure that any chemicals used would not affect anyone. I used Tom again to replace our old wooden fence and again I was not disappointed. The labor involved in this project alone was not for the faint of heart. I was amazed how efficiently they worked. There was not a single day were any debris was left anywhere. Probably taking more time then they expected the guys showed up every morning on time and always pleasant. Having two dogs that use the fenced yard every day, there was no disruption to their routine. Tom made recommendations along they way and I appreciated that. The fence turned out so much better than I expected and is sturdy and secure and won't need to be replaced in my lifetime! I highly recommend them!

TS was Fantastic ! they worked in difficult environment including us living at the job site while being completed. they were courteous to my animals (Dog and two cats ) during the project. The Kitchen and bathroom renovation went very smoothly from beginning to end, always cleaning up at the end of each day so that our house did not fell like a construction site. during the process Tom had many good suggestions to make the project look more custom using stock materials and the end result was better than i envisioned at the start. also note that two other contractors did not want to take on this job due to the difficulty and schedule. My husband and I love our new gourmet kitchen. The employees from Total Solutions were reliable and were very professional. My German Shepherd was happy to see them because they were very good to him. I would recommend this company to anyone who wants quality work at a good price.
